Happy Halloween

Dear Family and friends,

Thanks for all of your letters!! I just sit in the public library laughing and giggling at all of your letters and everybody just sits there and glares at me. Apparently it’s supposed to be quiet in a library?? Ya I don’t follow that rule I’m from ‘Merica. Home of the free land of the brave >:) heheh I am terribly sorry, but I can’t e-mail everybody back but just know that I do read every single e-mail. And please keep sending them :)

Mom, Dad, Shanae, and Marae. Even though you didn’t write me Marae. Psh. Are you forrealz? Is it just cuz I make fun of you in my letters? Fiiiiiiiine I’ll stop…. Only if you promise to write me every week! >:) hah alright but it sound like you are doing great!! I love hearing from you guys. Elder Carder and I (and probs every other missionary in the world) consider e-mailing time more valuable than gold. No JOKE! It’s the best thing in the world!! So keep writing me :)

Mom, great job in your real estate school shtuff. It sound like it’s going well and don’t worry I’ll pray for you. (K this is a little beside the point but everybody says I need to pray for them…. Are you kidding me? You don’t need to tell me. What do you think I say in my prayers? Please help my investigators? Uhhuhh No Way. I say please help my family!!! Hahaha :) so stop saying, “Please pray for me” cuz I do that almost every second of every day. Hahah just kidding you can still say “pray for me.” Cuz I like praying for specific needs. It makes it more personal. Sorry I just had to get that off my chest. Okay back to ma letter I did receive the package. And I about died!! Hahah We hung all the decorations up. And the Fast breaks were gone in about 48 hours….. we never buy candy, because it’s so expensive so that was a great blessing! Thanks for that! But yes you can send packages to my flat. It’s a pretty posh area. But if it’s Christmas stuff you’re supposed to send it to the Mission Home. Oh but for Christmas I need some Jumpers. Those v-neck sweaters that you throw over your white shirt… ya I need some of those :) You can send my light grey one in my room and maybe send a Black, blue, and a few different colors… Just something that can go with my blue and grey suits. Oh can you send me more of my ties! Especially ones that will go with my blue suit! Cuz we have to wear a suit everyday…. And I only have two suits and about 3 ties go well with my blue suit so I need more ties for my blue suit :) You can send any scarf or beanie. Just make sure it has some style. I am in England after all. It’s gotta be pretty posh. haha

But my week was great this week! But… our numbers weren’t the best. So we are really going to try to get those numbers better this week. So I’m gonna work backwards in my week because last time I went from Monday to Sunday this time I’ll go from Sunday to Monday. :) So on Sunday we went to church. *long pause… crickets. Chirp chirp* Yup that’s about it. Haha just kidding ehh but not really. We went to church to PRAISE THE LORD! (say in a black preacher voice) then we had some lunch with a member family. Then we tracted for about an hour. That’s about it. It kinda stinks it gets dark now at about 5 so you can’t street contact. Cuz who wants to talk to two men in the dark….. ya acca awkard. So after 5 if you don’t have appointments it’s going to be a little tougher. So that was Sunday.

Saturday, We had sports Saturday :) :) :) :) YYYYEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! We played football WEHUU I even used my cleats and I stole the ball from the other Elders so I can juggle in our flat. HEHEHEh >:) I’ll attatch some pics so you can see my pure joy!

Okay time is running out. So Danny is getting baptised on November 24th. It was scheduled for Nov 16 but that’s stake conference… so that stinks. But I AM BAPTISING HIM!!! :) oh happy days!! I am so happy!! But those are the best things that happened this week. Sports Saturday. Church. And that I am baptising Danny Hamblin! Well this has been another weekly report from Elder Wright. I am signing off. I love you guys!! Cheers,

Elder Wright

PS. Happy Halloween. haha

PPS I am sending eerbody a hand written letter in the next two weeks (family only) so be prepared :) They will be GREAT!

So Many Blessings so little time!

            Dear Family and friends,

This week was great!! :) Happy happy days! The weeks go by so fast, it’s ridiculous. But I am going to get right into this letter cuz I only have 47 minutes left on this computer and I want to tell you as much as I can!!

Monday the 14th – Elder Carder and I went bowling with our district. Then went and played basketball with the elders…. Bowling was fun but basketball…. Oh my days! It was so awful. We have this one elder who thinks he is all that and a bag of chips and I just sit there and laugh at him, because he is just so cocky. But whatever. ON p-days we don’t too much but come 6 o clock we go back to doing the Lord’s work. We had a few appointments and they all fell through til athe last one which is a dad and a 13 year old girl named Isabella and Ian. They have been investigating the church for about 7 or 8 years!! We had a great lesson with them and Isabella wants to be baptised but Ian isn’t totally for it.

Tuesday- on Tuesday we didn’t have too many appointments so we did a whole lot of tracting. But a miracle happened! We went to an appointment in the AM and of course they weren’t there. :( sooo we started heading back to our flat to go have some lunch and do this program called 12 weeks that all new missionaries have to do. On the way back we stopped by a less active member whose name is Susan. Susan is 54 years old who has WoW problems and she is single. And her being single means we can’t go into her house unless another man is present over the age of 18. SO we were just going to say hi and bye. But right when we showed up Susan’s guy friend came over!! SO we could go in and teach her a lesson :) but that isn’t the miracle. While we were talking to her, she broke down into tears. She was a wreck. It was sad to see. I felt like a therapist trying to help her with her problems. Elder Carder was talking to her and then out of the blue the spirit told me to share with her Alma 37:36&37. Oh my gosh. It was such a great scripture!! It helped her so much and the spirit was so strong! This was the first time the spirit has prompted me to say something that was that powerful! I was so happy! :) :) :’) :) That was Miracle Tuesday.

Wednesday- :) oh budddie! Wednesday was a great day! Well actually it was awful. At first but our last appointment was with this man named Paul (pol/Pole) who is in his 40’s and that I contacted on the street. :) (pat myself on the back, good job Dayton) Paul cannot read or write. And he never went to school. Like what the heck?! Who doesn’t go to school?! Because he can’t read, write and he isn’t educated at all… we taught him who our Heavenly Father was. And how to pray. This took about 40 minutes. Just to explain those two things. It was a really good lesson though. You could see that he was feeling the spirit. And at one time during the lesson, he looked at me and said, “You have such great power when you speak. I can feel it” hahah so we definitely knew he could feel the spirit! At the end of the Lesson we asked him if he wanted to get baptised and he said……….. YES!! WEHU! He is scheduled for Nov 10th! Keep him in your prayers.

Thursday- Every Thursday we have a district meeting which goes from 10-12 and then we go and eat lunch with the district from 12-1. :) It’s some pretty fun stuff. I tell ya wut. Once again we went to all of our appointments and they all fell through! Oh. My. Gosh. Hahah but we’re used to it now so it doesn’t even phase us. :) we are always happy! We had a dinner appointment with the Jazuski’s and there family is gr8! They are a part member family but they are sealed in the temple. The dad is the in active one but he is a really cool guy. We are teaching their little 9 year old girl Aimee. She is really interested and wants to get baptised! We haven’t set a date but she wants to be baptised! So that’s awesome! We then went to another appointment with a part member family (the Hamblins) WE are teaching their son Danny who is 8 and just told me yesterday that he wants me to baptise him! So hopefully that enthusiasm stays in him :) :)

Friday- We went to two dinner appointments and oh my gosh I was so full!!!!!!! I couldn’t handle it. But I did weigh myself….. I have gained 10-15 pounds already on my mission! :) Yaaa Budddy!! If anything I would just come on a mission to gain weight. LOL but I eat so much now! IT’S crazy! Hahah but don’t worry I’m not a fat person. Still a lean guy! But they were great appointments. They were with the bishop and the collinson family. So that was good!

Im not going to tell you about Saturday or Sunday but they were great as usual! But I was reading my patriarchal blessing this morning and I started looking up scripture references to certain words and stuff. And I came upon 1 John. I challenge everybody who reads this e-mail to read 1 John. Don’t worry it’s only 3 pages it won’t take  you very long. But I promise if you read this with an open heart and really think about it you will be tremendously blessed! Keep e-mailing me! I love you so much!

Love Elder Wright

p.s. if you could send me a beanie and a scarf…. I don’t know my ears kinda get cold at night :) hahah but that’s really about it for now. I’m doing perfect!

Hey Mom :)

You’re a’right. That sucks our letter was erased. But that’s okay! So my week was pretty good! Um it was kinda slow cuz a lot of appointments feel through so that a real stinker, but the end of the week went really well :) On Saturday we went tracting and we prayed for what street to tract on cuz that’s what you do as missionaries. You pray. ALL the time :) but that’s beside the point. We went tracting in Stotfold it’s about a 7  minute bus ride but it costs about 3.50!!! Holy Moly! Super-duper expensive. But it was either 3.50 or about a 2 mile walk. And we are walking about 8-10 miles a day so we decided to take the bus :) haha we went tracting on the Royal Roads. Cuz we’re in England and you know, you gotta stick to the royal side. It will bless ya. Lol sorry im all over the place. O.k. Tracting. We went on the Royal Roads. Such as Prince Henry, Harry, And Queens street. And we got 3-5 new appointments out of it. So that’s great :) (Just a little side note Elder Carder and I had the most new appointments set up for this week out of the whole district. We have 13 new appointments!!!!) That was Saturday. Sunday….. Was great! We finally went to the ward and met everybody. That was such a blessing, because now we have loads of dinner appointments… (MmmMmm Mrs. M is this corn Hand chucked? Could you get the tomatoes off? Thanks :) LOL LOL Oh my gosh! I just want to quote that whole movie!!) and we are trying to focus on working with members so we are trying our best to build our trust with them. :) And it went over pretty darn well!! And it’s weird on Sunday we go street contacting and tracting…. Like what the heck?! NO nap? Or break? It’s the freakin Sabbath. C’mon! Gimme gimme gimme I need, I need, gimme gimme gimme haha But we are really looking forward to this week!! Hopefully everything goes well :) I found my adapter for my phone so I’m sending lots of pics!! IT finally rained on Sunday. We walked to church cuz we don’t have a car. Haha and by the time we got there my suit pants were dark grey!!! It was almost as if I had a different suit on… So that’s pretty cool. But yes mom I did buy a jacket. So don’t worry im doing just fine. And I’m good with the money thing. I got plenty… heheheh I might even go on a little shopping spree :) I will buy one of those brimmed hats though. You know those golfer hats. Ya I am going to but one and wear it around while tracting cuz we can wear those!!! SAWEET :)

I love you guys!! Everything is going so well. I love everything about this mission. Seriously. And I’m not even home sick. Which surprises me a little bit. The Lord truly is helping in that category I can tell you that much. Haha oh also my new address if you wanna send me an actual letter (Shanae) is Elder Dayton Wright, Flat 40, Dunkerly Court, Bird’s Hill, Letchworth Garden City, England SG6 1FE or IFE. Ha Just write it like a capital I with no lines at the top. Like this…. SG6 IFE. <- ya do that. :) And a little cool fact about my city, It was the world’s first garden city!! Ya Letchworth is pretty cool.

Alright love ya guys!! Love, Elder Wright
