November 24, 2014

My dearest people,
The snow sounds great, you are on school break so that's a plus a But you are at work so that cancels out the plus and puts you in the negatives.... hahah Sorry about that. haha Dad, you need to stop working them on these school holidays. Childhood never comes back, let them live it up!!! hahah a Hope I didn't cause any contention with those wordsa But ya continue pressing on with whatever you are doing, and good things will come a
before I forget,

MY NEW ADDRESS
2 Merlin Way
Ashford, Kent
TN23 5BF
England a a <3
I would love to hear how you are all doing so hand written letters would be much appreciated a

What a week. I need to answer all of the questions that you may have, so lets go a
So Ashford is quite the place, it's near the white cliffs of Dover. Which are b-e-a-utiful by the way (you should look up pictures on the internet a ) Yes, it's cold. And for the first two days we didn't have heat in our flat, so we froze ourselves but we told some members and now we have two space heaters to help us out a We have a car, which to be honest I do not like! yes, it's fun driving on the other side of the road, but I feel as if we don't get as much work done. Becuase as a Zone Leader you constantly need to go here or there, print out this, go to the chapel, pick people up from the train station, go to district meetings, and the list goes on and on, But I LOVE IT! I know that the Lord will help us to find "elect families" as we rely on Him, and pray for these opportunities. The ward is amazing! We have dinner appoitnments 6 out of 7 days this week, and not only that, but almost all of December is booked a That's not what makes this ward great by the way, its just a bonus. a haha But they are great missionaries and they are willing to help us in any way possible! So Ashford ward >>> Pretty cool "coincidence" this is for DAD mostly... Do you know a Brother Good? Ha DO you remember your old companion on your mission from britain? yup. He doesn't live here. haha But his brother does, so we talked for a bit, and now we are going to go to his house for dinner a Thanks fro serving a mission dad a He (your comp) lives in Norwich area so if you want to get in contact that might help.... My companion is great. He is from South Africa and he is a pretty cool dude. We have been on a few exchanges (which are you just swap companions for the day) before this so we know each other, but ya as of now we are teaching nobody. So we have the wonderful challenge/task to find people to teach and baptise!!! Please pray that we find "elect families" a a LOVE YOU!
Ya, that's my life. Tomorrow we are going to drive into London at 4.30 so we miss traffic... so we can go and listen to good ol Quentin L. Cook. a That will be so much fun! The spirit is going to be like Hercules! I am well excited for it. Can you believe it? Four weeks til Chirstmas? That's mental! But let's focus on today. If we get carried away with focusing on tomorrows and yesterdays, we will miss the greatness of life.
Sorry, this letter is all over the place. To be honest there is nothing else to say! I love you all, and for Chirstmas stuff the address taht you send things to is
64-68 Prnces Gate,
Exhibition Road
South Kensington
SW7 2PA
England

Love you and have a great week in o-Town!
Continue to send pictures a
Love,
Dayton

Happy Thanksgiving

  Dear Family.
To be honest this might be the shortest e-mail ever! I need to eat my fish and chips before it gets cold, do call-ins with the A.P.'s (which takes and hour) then shop, clean (both the flat and the car.) and then go teach a so Be prepared for the shortest e-mail ever!! a
My life is sosososso great! I will give you highlights of this week, and maybe a summary of it.
Elder Cook came and it was uhmazing! We were able to shake his hand and the best part of the whole thing was his testimony! This is what he said and I quote,"I have had some experiences that are too sacred to share, I know the Saviour's voice." GEEZ. The spirit hit me like a ton of bricks when he said that!!! So that was neat. THat was on Tuesday.
MLC which is when all of the Zone Leaders in the mission get together with President and discuss the work. It was in London and it goes from 10-4. Such a long meeting.... But way cool. It's funny, because President the whole time was pretty much asking for advice on different things that he should share with the mission and we would give our thoughts and he would write them down, and move on to the next topic. It just comes to show you that the missionaries in a mission have a lot of say whaqt goes on. a
Work wise, this week was the worst week in my mission. We couldn't find anybody to teach, but the Lord opened the windows of heaven last night! It was so good a a I will tell you more about it next week cuz i have to go, but just pray for Richard a a

Okay I love you all, thanks for the pictrues a

Alma 34: 32-34

   Family.
If you could real fast turn to Alma 34.32-34 this is a wonderful scripture that talks about the purpose of life Are you all there? Okay here it is,
" 32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.
33 And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.
34 Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world."
Did all of you read the whole thing? ha I know what you probably did you started reading it then you thought lets just skip to the end when he explains everything, that way we don't have to read it..... Caught you. So if you didn't read it, please take the time now to read it
Now explanation, in verse 32 it talks about the importance of life. The only reason for it is to prepare to meet God. That's it, nothing else. So if there is one thing that you should be doing right now and you're not, do it. There is nobody stopping you but yourself. I challenge everybody who reads this to read Alma chapter 5. Best chapter ever! And do it prayerfully as well. But just to give you a sneak peak here is a few of my favourite verses from it.
"16 I say unto you, can you imagine to yourselves that ye hear the voice of the Lord, saying unto you, in that day: Come unto me ye blessed, for behold, your works have been the works of righteousness upon the face of the earth?
17 Or do ye imagine to yourselves that ye can lie unto the Lord in that day, and say—Lord, our works have been righteous works upon the face of the earth—and that he will save you?"
Boom. powerful stuff. I try my very hardest in life just so when that day comes The Lord can look at me and say, "Come unto me ye blessed..." Can't you just imagine him saying that as well? I imagine him with open arms and the warmest most welcoming smile you could ever see. It truly does bring tears to my eyes... But now look at verse 17. When we stand before the lord we are going to remember absolutely everything we have ever done wrong. Everything. No ands, ifs, or buts about it. And that to me is a scary thought. My advice to you, think if you were to die right now, would you be guilty, or would he say unto you, "Come unto me ye blessed..." If you feel guilty for something right now.... CHANGE IT! As a missionary you see people change their life for the better, like Debbie and Shannon (I will talk about them later), and it brings yourself more joy than you can imagine. Now can you imagine the joy the Lord will have with you if you were to change your life around? Three words for you, JUST DO IT. Change. Ya, sure it may be tough, but it will be worth it, and I can promise you as one of his faithful servants that your life will be better as well. I cannot stress this enough so I will stop and go onto my week
Debbie and Shannon- Thanks for your prayers. It worked. I know it did. After the "break up" that we had we didn't see her for two days. Which is a long time for us! So we get a text from her two days later that says, "I miss you twos when are you coming around." Oh what joy filled my soul when I saw that text!!!  haha So we went over to her house and she was a changed women. For some odd reason, she didn't bring up what happened on Sunday, she moved on and she is now back on track! #PraisetheLord! The only sad thing is that it's transfers this week and I think that I might leave, and not see her get baptised.... Hopefully if I leave President will let me come baptise her. Her new date is for the 30th of November! She has been taught everything the only thing she needs help with is the W.o.W. She smokes only one a day. Which is so good, but its not good enough... haha But I know that through our faith that she will be able to over come it all
So on Friday night we had a "Drinking Chocolate Night" in our flat complex.... And it went so well   ha Like who knew? WE have about 40 flats in our flat complex, so on Monday of last week we sent around flyers and 5 people came, I know only 5 came, but every body who came we now have an appointment with. So moral of the story creative finding works. Do it. As well with creative finding, about 2 months back we did Side walk chalk, and drew out the Plan of Happiness and now Elders in Dunstable are going to have a baptism on the 22nd because of it   Creative Finding, I am telling you, its the future of missionary work  ha Cool story huh?
If you pray (plead) for one thing tonight let it be this, Michael Veronica, Danya, and Annaya. Who are a wonderful family that came to Church yesterday. They said it was a bit long, but can you blame them? ha I mean you got half of the High Priests bobbing their head around the room... haha  So we teach them tomorrow and they are praying about the Book Of Mormon and they NEED an answer so please pray for them!!!  Cheers.
Alright, sorry about my sermon. ha Actually not really, but hope you enjoyed it. And hope you have a great week   I love you more than you can imagine and you are constantly the last thing on my mind right before I go to bed! Love you and have a wonderful week
Much Love,
Elder Dayton Wright

Happy Birthday GMA

 Sup fam.
First of all, Happy Birthday G'MA! You are looking younger every year. haha You are the best! Just have Shananu give you a kiss for your Birthday for you and that will be from me :) Goodness, it is b-e-a-utiful in Utah... I miss those colours so so so  much!... But you sent pictures so its almost as if I am practically there :) UEA weekend sounds as if it was well spent. With biking, traveling, watching some soccer, going to Vegas, and wherever else you went, sounds like a jolly good time :) To be honest there is not much more I can say about all of guys. haha Keep strong and carry on.
    Now my life. Ready set
   GO.
This week was full of miracles once again. I don't fully comprehend why or how these all come about, but as I said last week, "I am so blessed." :) so I will start with my favourite miracle then work my way down... and tell you all of the dirty detes. :)
Okay, so yesterday after Church we had this priest and laurles camp at our Chapel for all of the youth of the stake, and Elder Nielson and I were there from 1 to about 6.15 or so. And President Jordan was there and he was going to be giving a training and having the mission choir singing at this event. He kindly asked if we wanted to stay and watch, but instead we decided to leave and go find somebody to teach as we headed to Debbie and Shannon's. As soon as we walked out of the Chapel there was a family with two kids walking right by us. So we asked them,
Have you ever been inside this Church before?
their response, "Well not, this one but one in Cambridge a few years back."
"Well would you like to come and listen to a choir that is singing here just for the night?"
"Ya, sure why not."
We walk into the room that President is in with the choir and ask them if they could sing them a song. Of course president said, "Of course, come on in." They sang "Brightly beams, our Father's Mercy" (Don't know if that is what it is called, but that is the first line.)  and it was sooo good. Like A +, top notch, spirit filled, just smashing, actually marvellous! After the song was finished President asked them where they were from and they said, "Spain, and Mexico" So President Jordan and 3 or 4 other missionaries started talking to them in Spanish, and their faces just started to light up! They chit chatted for a bit then President asked, "Can these missionaries come and teach you sometime this week?" and they said, "Of course, we are open to different ideas, we would love to have them over." :) So we left the Chapel and scheduled an appointment with them for tomorrow and they will probably be baptised!! But here is the kick/cutest thing about all of this. So for about 3 weeks now we have been praying to find a "normal family" who could 1. be the second counsellor because we only have a first counsellor. And 2. have two kids, and one of them be over 8. And after we finished talking to them, and were walking away Elder Nielson looked over at me with tears in his eyes and said, "That was the family." And he just started crying tears of joy. :) It was such a happy moment and we knew right then, that this family truly was the family we were supposed to find. It just comes to show that if you ask for something Heavenly Father will answer your prayer, but He just answers in his own time. Talk about a truly humbling experience. :) MIRACLE!
Then yesterday as well at Church we had 8 people there! :) We had Anita and her family who we met in the street a few days back and invited them and she said, I have always been looking for a Church. Then on Sunday morning she asks us, "Can my friend come with and bring her kids as  well?" And we were jumping all around the room saying, "OHHH heck ya you can bring your friend and her family!!!" hahah So that was a miracle, and we will be teaching them on Wednesday.
Update with Debbie and Shannon. This week we gave Debbie a priesthood blessing to help her with her W.O.W. problems, and oh my days! It worked, it works! All I have to do is take short little baby steps and I can go anywhere. (steps onto the ledge) oohhhuuhh. :) hah So Debbies's whole life she has been around tea. She usually has about 30-40 cups of tea a day, then she smokes about 20-30 a day. And as of yesterday she hasn't had a cigarette or a cup of tea!!!! :) :) :) MIRACLE! I am almost 100% sure that I was foreordained to find and teach Debbie and Shannon. It seems as if we have known each other for years, it's the best thing in the world! It makes me wanna cry. haha Im such a girl. :) It just comes to show that if you are obedient you will receive blessings. -Mosiah 2.41.
Well family, my time is up. If you can't tell Life is UHMAZING! I love it. I am not coming home. hehe And Oh the subject, comes from President Jordan. That is what he told Elder Nielson and I before we left the Chapel last night. hahah Don't know if it is supposed to be really deep, or just a weird thing to say, because I have never heard of it before. ha I secretely think President just got stuck and thought of something that grows.... So he could have said instead, "When the sun is shining... make corn." or something to that extent hahah :) I think it all means the same, but for some odd reason he said hay. But hey what can you say? ha okay im done.
Love you lot,
Have a smashing week!
Elder Dayton freaking Wright

HAPPY BIRTHDAY G'MA!!! I LOVE YOU!!

October 20, 2014

Fam.
Whats good?! How's the autumn time treating all yall? The pictures mum sent were wonderful! To be honest the only reason why I am looking forward to coming home next year is to see Keo. Not Frenchie. Just Keo. Frenchie is a diva, and really annoying. :) And then there is Keo who is full of life and just goes with the flow :) Keo > Frenchie.:) I am sorry to hear that Shananu lost her game, but you win some, you lose some, you just hope you win more than you lose. But don't you worry girlfriend next year when I am coaching with Steiner and Castle we will go all the way baby! :) haha The football game looked sooo much fun. Ugh. I miss going to those with you Poppy! It was a real nail bitter as well, that's always a plus :) Don't you worry though, next year we will go to one, just like the "good ol days" :)
Alrigh fam, so there is a song that describes exactly how I feel, and it goes like this....
I am so blessed. I have more than I deserve, I thank god for all I have been given at the end of every dayyyy, I am so blessed. -forgot. (some country singer.) ha But these few lines describe exactly how I feel. I feel blessed and humbled. We have had unusual success lately and it humbles me. ha That sounds as if we never have success, but we definitely are always successful just these past few weeks have been brilliant! :) haha
So last week as you all know we had David's baptism which was great and we had 5 people at Church. Which is a pant load for us. I think the most my companion and I have ever had is two and that is throughout my whole mission experience. Soo... I am so blessed.
This week though, was smashing! You know how Debbie is petrified of water? Well we talked to her about baptism and why she needs to be baptised and she accepted a date for the 15th of November, and she will receive the Holy Ghost on the 16th :) :) B.D.E. for that reason and another one. Their faith is improving so so so much! They came to Church again yesterday, that's three weeks in a row, they thought it was a bit long, but the primary did their programme and it was lovely! It reminded me of back at home how all the kids(Tate Anderson mostly) would always be up there waving at their parents and making silly faces, goodness, it's too great! I love the primary children! :) So they enjoyed that, and as well during the programme Debbie received a "witness" of why she needs to be baptised! They were talking about temples and baptisms for the dead and sadly her dad has passed away and she really wants to know if she can be with him again, so when the primary kids were talking about this the spirit touched her soul!! :) WEHU! I call it a wehu bar, you know like WEHU! :-) So that's Debbie and Shannon. We see them everyday and life is good with them. Oh by the way a miracle happened with them. Their cousin is a member of the Church :) Booyaa Baby!
We have this investigator that we meant on the street, by just offering him a free Book of Mormon and he said,
Yes!
So we were like "Wait, why would you like it?"
Dan said, "Because it talks about God, right?"
Yes, Yes it does. Do you have a belief in God?
Then he went on to explain how he has this belief In God and all of that good stuff. But what really caught our attention was he only has one arm. So we taught him about the resurrection and it really touched him, so we set up an appointment to see him on Saturday.
Saturday comes along and no "one arm Dan." (that's what we call him hehe) #gutted.
That night we text Dan and say, "We will see you at Church tomorrow at 10. ya?".... No response.
get to Church, 9.30 we receive a text from Dan saying, "I am by Stockwood park. Come pick me up."
Boy were we buzzin! We headed to the park, but it took us 45 minutes to find him, but when we found him he brought his mother and father! :) :) #iamsoblessed So we talked about what would happen at Church as we walked and when we got there they loved it! The mum was participating in our Gospel Principles class, they loved the primary programme, just everything went great! :) It truly was a miracle, because we have been praying to find a 2nd counsellor for our bishopric, because there are not enough Priesthood men for one. And you never know Tony (Dan's Dad) just might be the one :) :) Yaa buddy! #humbled.
For two weeks in a row now, we have had five investigators at Church! Geez... That's crazy! Now you know why I feel so blessed, because it truly is more than what we deserve. But you best believe in every prayer (which is about 20 plus a day) we thank Him for everything. If there is one thing I have learned its that you need to rely on the Lord for everything. And not just ask for something, but ask specifically. We didn't just want any family, we wanted a family, with a "normal" dad who could be a 2nd counsellor... And you never know with the Lord's help we may have stumbled upon him :) Crazy!
But yes this week has been lovely! Our companionship is doing great! I love the people we are teaching, but most of all "I am so blessed, I have more than I deserve, I thank God for all I have been given at the end of every dayyyy! I am so blessed." :) Thank you family and friends for all that you do! It's because of your prayers and your support that Miracles are happening in Luton :) Cheers.
Love you! Have a wonderful week!
Love,
Elda Dayton Wright

Mumsie Popsicle

My dearest mumsie and popsicle, -Wicked
Lets start with the one and only Shananu! Happy frekin late birthday! AHAHAH that blows my mind that you are now 17... Kinda hate it actually but whatevs. what can I do? You looked g-r-8 in your dance get up :) that dress was very suiting for the time of year :) point for you! I definitely got some b-e-a-utiful sisters :) Keep it up and good luck at state! KICK TIMPANOGAS' bootaaae! Be on them like white on rice, be on it like a car bonnet, Nothing gets past you. you got that?! :) cool.
Seems like the rest of the fam is doing well. :) Nothing to really complain about. So cheers for that. Now its on to me. (Im prideful)
We have had a stupendous week! It flew by, I don't even know where the time has gone... I think that's a good thing though :) haha We had many miracles and wonderful things happen in Lovely Luton this week! First off the baptism... WEHU! GET IN SON!
David's baptism went over so so so well :) Elder Nielson baptised him, and did a wonderful job! My little son is all grown up *tearing up :) I will definitely send you some pictures, because he took some and I sent them to my e-mail that way you could see them. See how thoughtful I am to you lot? Aren't I the best? haha Funny story about David, so we bought him a white shirt and a tie and give it to him the day before his baptism and right when we gave it to him he rushed into the room, threw everything on, grabbed a Book of Mormon, and started preaching to us! Saying "My good brudda's I testify that this book is true. You need to read and pray about it!" haha And he was preaching to his friends! It was well funny :) :) So that' David.
   Debbie and Shannon.
Good ol Debs and Shannon. They are wicked! We connect so well, it seems as if we have been best friends all of our life and only 2 weeks ago we started teaching them. We go over to their house every day. And it makes every day worth it! Every time we come over she says, "Even if this day was the worst day of my life all I have to do is open that door, see your smiling faces, and all of my worries go away! Thanks for being my guardian angles" :) Cute innit? haha They are so good. So this week Shannon (who is the 15 year old daughter) received her answer that the BoM is true and that God is there! WEHU! She was so excited! She doesn't really know what that means but we are slowly opening up her mind to what it means. Every time we go over there the spirit is so dang strong! They will get baptised really soon. The only problem is Debbie is petrified of water. Full stop. She won't get in. She came to david's baptism and the whole time she was like, "No way! I feel ill right now. There is no way I am getting into that water." And I turned and said, "GET IN THE WATER!.... Babe, please get in the water?" -Notebook I actually said Don't worry Deb if we have to knock you out to get you in that water we will. hahah :) Seriously I would do anything to baptise her. She knows it needs to be done. So one way or another it will be done. If we have to use force, so be it. haha So that's them. I believe the only reason I am in Luton is for this family. So ya that's pretty cool innit? :)
Yesterday we had five people at church. Five. Oh My DAYS! That is a butt load. In my whole mission I have never had that many people at church! For some reason this week, everything just worked out! It was the best feeling ever. But the whole time Elder Nielson and I were so stressed! After Church we just sat down for 5 minutes to take deep breaths to recollect our selves.
So  we had Debbie and Shannon at Church. They thought it was okay, just really long, which I don't really blame them. It was there first time at Church.
David who was Baptismed. :) haha
Joan- Who is just like G'ma File. THe only difference is this Joan is a bit cookoo in the head. haha
John- Who we met Saturday night and invited him to come, so he did. ha We even set his alarm on his phone. That was pretty cool. Story about it. When he came he smelt like alcohol and fags. He told us that he had been up til about 3 smoking and drinking. But one of the best quotes I have heard is, "The best smell you can smell in sacrament meeting is alcohol and smoke, because you know people are trying to change their lives." Pretty great quote innit? ha But that doesn't mean you can go out every weekend and just start smoking and living up the weekends. ha In the words of colonel Hall, "DON'T DO DUMB THINGS" haha
Ya life is good family. I say this every week but I will continue to say it. I LOVE MY MISISON! It's the best thing that I have done. Thanks for constantly being there and being so supportive. Means the world! Love yous to bits!
Love,
Elder Dayton Wright

DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?

   Dear Family,
Sounds like the whole lot is doing well :) Going to concerts, football games, school, just living life really. Good stuff. ha Can you believe its already General Conference this weekend?! GET IN SON! This weekend is going to the best weekend ever!!! :) :) :) You best believe we are inviting everybody and their cats to General Conference! Who else can say they have a modern day prophet on the Earth,... Nobody. And that is what is so special about our Church! I freakin love it!! Cool. Enough about that.
Okie dokie. This week... Whoa. What a week.
I believe it is story time. >:)
   Here we go.
   Monday.
After writing you and talking about "What about Bob" and what have ya, we went to teach this family who is comprised of a mum and twins. The twins are 13 years old and wee lil lads. haha (I don't talk like that.) We went to their house with our Ward Mission Leader and taught the best lesson ever!! We shared with her "Hope of God's Light" and oh my days! The spirit was so strong and so we invited her to be baptised on the 26th of October and she accepted!!!! :) :) Geeezzz. Kip. WE FOUND A FAMILY! And the way we found her is a testimony of how you need to be exactly obedient on your mission! So we were on the bus about 2 weeks ago and Elder Nielson and I sat down, and across from us was this mother with a son. And inside of me I was having a little angel and devil moment. The angel was saying, you need to talk to these people. And the devil was saying, You are way too tired there is no reason to talk to them, you have been rejected all day. Just one won't matter. But I am happy to say I chose the angel and that was the best decision of my life! hahah When we first talked to her she said, "I am not interested in God." So we being cheeky lil monkeys said, "That's okay we are sharing a message about strengthening families, would you be interested" And so she agreed for us to come over. :) Angel >>> Devil. A little side fact she even cancelled our first appointment. But don't you worry we followed up and now she is getting baptised!! FOLLOW UP! :) And she even came to Church on Sunday and she is coming to G.C. as well :) You best believe when we came out of that lesson we were thinking.... Whoa. Did that just happen?
   Next.
This story starts about two months ago. Elder Harding and I stopped this mother and a daughter who were walking there dogs and for some reason we immediately clicked. We started talking about God, but she was not interested in the slightest, but we still scheduled to go meet with them. And for about six weeks straight we made appointments, we got there, with a member, and they were not in. And so on Saturday we just stopped by with a member, because a different appointment cancelled. hahah  So we get there and she is outside, and I was thinking, "AHA we got you now!" hehe But after doing a bit of chit chat we were welcomed to come inside and watch a quick video. And guess what Mormon message we watched for somebody who doesn't believe in God? HOPE OF GODS LIGHT. :) Best video ever! And while we were watching she started to cry.Afterwards we asked why she was crying, and she was being so tough to crack. She was saying things like, I don't know. Just feel like I want to. But we testified that what she felt was the spirit. Then she slowly started to open up. She then asked, "Why does God take all the good people?" "He took my dad, mum, and a few others. Why doesn't he take the murderers and those people?"  Then we testified of life after death and I threw in the Kalena experience which is always a tear jerker. And oh my days! The spirit was just so strong! We invited her to Church but she declined. But we are going to see her tonight! And she is sooo good! She would make such a good member of the Church! And her daughter is asking questions like, "How do I come to know that God is there?" And just brilliant questions like that, and so tonight we are going to try to answer their questions, invite them to G.C. and to be baptised on the 26th of October! Please pray for us, and pray that the spirit is as strong as it was last time. Because the spirit the first time was so strong you could practically grab it. It was almost as if it was thick... don't even know if this is making sense, but it was crazy! And after the lesson Elder Nielson and I looked at each other and we were in amazement and thought, "Whoa. Did that just happen?"
Some remarkable things are happening in Luton. The Lord's hand is being revealed to us. It's amazing. To be honest though, its more humbling than anything. And to think that I might leave this area next transfer is sad. Transfers are next week already! Time flies! And Elder Nielson and I are prophesying that I am leaving.... So if you are sending post, make sure to send it no later than tomorrow. K. cool. Love you.
The more you pray for things to happen the more it does. I don't know if that is because you are looking for it more so, but I think that is one of the ways God shows his love for us. If we just simply ask for something we will get it. "Ask and ye shall receive." Its just that simple. If you want something ask. Then do all that you can do to get it, and the Lord will make up the rest. :)
I love you family. Stay strong. don't doubt. Have faith. Do something spontaneous this week. Do something that helps your spirits grow.
keep calm and read the Book of Mormon. :)
I love you!
Love,
Elder Dayton Wright

GQ Missionaries

Dayton and his Companion in Luton England...Looking GQ as always!!! Somethings never change!!

Lets Go round 2!!

WEHU! Family,
  Year 1 accomplished.
Year 2, bring it on. :)
This is so crazy to me. Can you believe it? I have now officially been out for a year... That is mental. I can think to what I was doing a year ago and its things like I was in the MTC... that doesn't even seem real. LIke what the heck?! ha This is a love hate relationship, I love how fast the time is flying by, but on the other hand it is going by too quick. I just can't believe it! Ugh. But at the end of the day the love of this relationship out rules the hate :) haha Pray that this year goes by even quicker :) haha
That youth spectacular event sounds pretty neat. And the temple is b-e-a-utiful. Dang. It's like extreme make over home edition, but with a temple. haha :) Somebody looks FABULOUS! -Grinch. But ya thats cool stuff.
I miss you guys. I love you. (Just thought I would throw that in there. Kinda like a surprise :) ) This week was good... as always. Like seriously compare what a missionary complains about to what you have to deal with in real life.
MISSIONARY complains about- We don't have anybody to teach. Im tired. Why is nobody progressing in this Gospel. I hope those people pray about the BoM. I hope they make it to Church. And the list can go on and on.
REAL LIFE people complain about- School sucks! I need a job, need to support a family, why do we have to work so much? What am I going to do with my life? And the list goes on and on.
Missionaries have it so easy when you compare it to real life people. ahah All we complain about/pray about are our investigators to grow and progress. We don't need to worry about family, money, job, any of that stuff. That is given to all of us. :) Im not complaining, but you have it a whole lot harder than missionaries. Missionaries complain way too much, and they don't realise how great this work is!!! Wake up and smell the roses! You know what I mean?! Work harder! You are only out here for 18-24 months, then you have an eternity to think about how you did in those months. That right there is a scary thought. So you best believe that I am trying to do all within my power (with the help of God of course) to do my very best. As you can tell I am not looking forward to real life, I know that is forever away, but to be honest I would be content if I could live this life style longer.... haha
This week Elder Nielson and I realised that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass. For a bit we stopped focusing on the small things and things got CRAZY! Everything just went out of control a bit, but I was told by a wise man, "That if you remain calm, nothing bad will ever happen." -Adam Melaney. So I took to that wise man's counsel, reflected on why these things were happening and changed them. And we continued to give thanks to the Lord for everything we have, plead with Him for help and for investigators to find out that the book is true, and what have ya. And by doing those small, but meaningful things, things changed. :) It was a very good lesson to me. I constantly need to do everything with in my power, especially the small things in order to receive the great things. Now compare this to your life. Continue to focus on the small things, and everything else falls into place. Continue to say your prayers, feast upon the words of Christ, spend time with Family, pretty much just have your priorities straight. Do things that make a difference in life. "Our usual worries can be classified into 5 categories, 1. 40 percent never happen. 2. 30 percent are in the past and can't be changed. 3. 12 percent are needless health worries. 4. 10 percent are miscellaneous problems. 5. 8 percent are real problems of which 95 percent can be solved." -Forgot who said this. Focus on that 8 percent, and as it says, 95 percent of those problems can be solved. I leave that other 5 percent to the Lord. Its just like Bob Wiley. He did the simple things, he tied himself to the boat, put on the life jacket, then at the end of the day, "He just let the boat do the work, that was his secret." :) We need to be more like Bob Wiley. Just let the Lord do the work. But don't forget that you need to do all that you can do. :) :) hahahaha Dang. That was such a good comparison. POINT FOR THE KIDS! Point for me? :):) :) haha I think yes.
David who is on date for the 28th is still on date.... Sorta. I don't feel like he is ready, but the Zone Leaders are pushing so hard to have him stay there. But he just has way too many questions and Elder Nielson and I feel if we were to baptise this man, he would fall away instantly. So we will probs push his date back to the 12th of OCtober. Wow, that is 2 days after Shananu turns 17.... My wee lil sister is growing up :') ha LOVE YOU!
But ya thats my life! Pretty good innit? :) We also have a 34 year old man on date for the 26th of October so thats sweet as well :) :) The work is truly hastening and now its time for the members to come into play. If the members will do their part, this work will hasten quicker. And that is what Elder Nielson and I are focusing on. We are trying to start a family night at the chapel 2 times a month, and the do sports night the other 2 times in the month. That way members can invite their family and friends to these activities and the work will hasten. :) :)
Thats my piece. That's my life. From Lovely Luton to Ogden Utah. Hope this week is better than last and continue to be like Bob Wiley. If you learned nothing from my letter BE LIKE BOB WILEY! :) hahah
That man has no worries or problems. Just remember kids
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I'm a schizophrenic,
and so am I.
Love you!
Elder Dayton Curtis Wright

ps Be like Bob Wiley!

September 15, 2014

  Dear Family,
So life is good, the grass in green, the good Lord smiling on you and meeee. Better knock on wood :) Don't know who sings that song, but I am pretty sure I sing that every single day. :) Cuz life is so DANG good. I don't think there is one thing I could complain about. Nothing is wrong. Whether that be at home or in lovely Luton :) haha
But onto your life. Sounds like its the same ol' same ol'. haha no big changes or news, so you could say that's a good thing :)ha Sounds like the dance was totes magoats a smashing time! I love stag dances. You get into the dance and your like, "K, lets go get it ooonnnn!!" Then "your song" comes on and you look at your friends and your like, "This is my song!" Then you go finna hard. (Is that used in the right context?) haha :) :) :) I miss school dances. Those were my pride and joy :) Live up your high school years Shananu cuz they go by way too fast. In fact when I get back I will see if I can't sneak into a few of the dances, because I miss them so much, and I look like I am still in high school so I could totes sneak my way in :) We would make that dance Legit. Actually 2 legit. :) Hope life is treating you well Marae and Dad. No e-mails from either of you.... That's okay, because I am kinda used to Marae forgetting about her only brother, but DAD, seriously? haha Jk love you anyways. Mum sounds like real e-state is improving and that you are having a fun time with that so point for you :) :) Everybody you are all really neat :) Every time I write I get this extra energy and my heart starts beating proper fast, and I get really giddy so that's why I am always all over the place :) :) ILY
   K. My life. You could call this week a week of miracles. :) And don't worry you will get all of the info about these miracles. There are three stories/people I need to tell you about so her you go. :)
Story 1.
David is his name, 29 Nigerian, we have taught him before and he seemed somewhat interested, but he wasn't progressing. So last week we saw him at ASDA, which is just the British Wal-Mart and he asked If we could come over, and of course we agreed so we scheduled to see him on Tuesday. Tuesday rolls around awfully fast and we go in thinking of dropping (not teaching) David, because he has kinda wasting our time to be honest. So we get into the lesson and we ask him about how his reading of the Book of Mormon has been and he says, "I have read what you wanted me to read, and I have prayed about it. And I have received a divine revelation that the Book is true." And Elder Nielson and I were like, "pardon?" haha not really, but inside I wanted to give this man a kiss, but I kept my composure and we taught him about Joseph Smith and what have ya and then asked him to be baptised on the 28th of September and he accepted :) :) :) :) :) :) GET IN SON! And he also was willing to come to Church and willing to follow the Word of Wisdom. Get in! So that was the best thing ever! Story number 1.
Story 2.
On Friday Elder Nielson came up with this lovely finding idea of showing the people on the street all of our pass along cards, and asking them to take a card, and doing some sort of magic trick. So I decided to try it... heheh So the first guy we stop, we say "Pick a card, any card." He picks one, and we ask, "Why that one?" And he says well it was the centre one. And we reply, "Well just like how that card was central, Jesus Christ is central to the message we share with people...." And continued to teach him about Jesus Christ and God. And this man, Lee is his name, told us that he didn't have a strong belief but that he was willing to meet with us on Saturday. So we met him the next day, and taught him in a local park where all of these kids were playing football, and I was getting so distracted! Thinking of my "glory days" hah :) But the lesson with Lee went amazingly well. He said all of the right things and by the end of the lesson we challenged him to be baptised on the 28th of September and he accepted!!! :) :) :) GET IN SON! Yup. Big gulp huh? Alright, see ya later.
Story 3.
Donia is her name, and it starts with a prompting to send a text to everybody in our phone to see when the missionaries could teach them again. And she calls and says, "What about Saturday at your Chapel?" SO we see her on Saturday after the amazing lesson with Lee, and we give her a Chapel tour, then show her a Mormon message, "Rescued through Christ" (which all of you should watch if you haven't) and start talking about Christ and the Godhead, because she is a Catholic and so she is really confused about the Godhead, so we told her about how God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, are 3 separate beings, but one in purpose. And she was like, Oh that makes perfect sense. So we continued on about Jesus Christ's life and started talking about baptism, and she thought that she needed to be baptised. So we said, "Well there is actually a very special room in our Chapel that we saved last to show you. And that is the baptismal font." Which was right behind her, so we open the doors and the first thing she says is, "That is the proper way it is supposed to be done." So we invite her for baptism right then for the 12th of October, and she accepts!! GET IN SON! :) Crazy innit?! So many miracles!! Random fact about Donia is she is from Pakistan, and is Christian... Weeeirdddd, but she has a family and wants all of them to be baptised!!! GET IN SON! :) ha
So that is my week. Crazy! But so lovely! This week flew by. Cannot believe it. It doesn't even seem real. But on Thursday I went into London (I bet you lot wish you could say that) hehe for a Leadership meeting and I received the package :) :) When I opened that package mum, I think my heart pooped. I ate 6 of those fast breaks right away. No hesitation. I regretted it afterwards, but Oh my days!! It tasted like heaven :) :) hahahah Thank you so so so sos much for everything! It was just what I needed. CHEERS! ILY
Well fam damily. That is another week of the best 2 years. Stay tuned. In another short week, I will back at it again. :)
Love ya to bits.
I need to buy some bits and bobs so don't be surprised if some money comes out of the account. :)
I LOVE YOU.
Love,
Your brother, son, grand child, friend, or whatever else :)

Vexed- Mad
Stroppy- Moody
Pronounce your t's and you will sound British. Or don't pronounce any t's for example water is actually wuhher. :) ha That's that.

September 8, 2014

   Dear Family,
So this is going to have to be reeeall quick. I have like no time whatsoever. We were at a BBQ today with President and Sister Jordan. They went to Costco and bought us all of these american foods!!! OH mY DAYS #! I miss american food :) haha Bought don't you worry, I definitely took some selfies with Sister Jordan and President Jordan. :) #getin! President was a bit reluctant, but I was bold and so he cracked under the pressure ;)
This week has been incredible! The main reason why is, because we had a family come to Church! :) It was a mum and three kids. So great. The only problem is that we can't see them this week and they are not able to come to Church so we will have to wait til next week to see them. You should pray for them. Just pray for Maggie and her family, pray that they come to Church, get baptised in September, and that we can find somebody to speak French to them :) ha Cuz they speak French and we don't (go figure) so we need to find somebody who can. ha Cheers.
Elder Nielson is doing great! We are the same person. I can't get over it. But whatever. We love each other which makes the work a lot easier and goes by a whole lot faster :)
Pray that we continue to find "elect" families. Not just any families, but elect. K. Cheers.
TO be honest there isn't m,uch more... We are doing well in Sunny Luton. I love it and it loves me. I cannot believe it is September, like what the _____! Crazy! :) Hope you have a great day! And a better week! Love your guts :)
Love your son, brother, friend, cousin, bestie, and whatever else I fit under,
 ELDER DAYTON WRIGHT!

September 1, 2014

  Dear Family,
I am filled with so many emotions, I don't even know where to start. So as it is the 1st of September I am feeling a bit sad right now, because Kalena has been gone for 10 years now. Can you believe that? 10 years? That has gone by so fast. I truly do miss her, but with the knowledge that we have we know everything will work out :) I don't want to make this a sad letter so I shall move on from this touchy subject.
I would have to say that my happiness/giddiness/joy just everything you could say is filled to the brim right now!! :) First of all, because Olivia got her call :) :) :) :) I wish I was called to serve where she is going... But hey England aint half bad ;) Proud of you Liv. :) My new companion is stupendous! His name is Elder Nielson, from Fool Creek, UT population of 60. haha :) He is saweet. So after President asked me to train I was praying with all my heart that I would get a little brother figure, and sure enough I got one :) Elder Nielson is so much like me! He finishes my sentences half the time, he is the only boy and has three sisters, works on a farm, hard worker, likes country music, ran track (800 M in 1:57 and 400 in 50), and he is very outgoing and likes to smile :) :) You could say that God answers prayers :) He is a great kid and you know how the youngest is usually the best at everything because they have had to play and fight against the older kids their whole life? That is how he is. He is so prepared and just ready to serve it is g-r-8! :) I like him.
Alright be prepared for a very "missionary" paragraph. So this week in my studies (which I love by the way. Mum you would be so proud that I finally learned how to study :) ) I was studying about finding people to teach. And I looked up a few scriptures and then pretty soon I realised that my whole mission I have been finding people the wrong way! So whenever we used to pray to find somebody to teach we would say something along the lines of, "Please help us find somebody to teach." and after my studay I realized that it needed to be more specific. It says in the scriptures that the Lord is preparing the "elect" and that is who we need to pray for. So we made a resolution to pray for the elect and try to find them, and what do you know.... It happened :): ) :) We found loads of people this week who were you could say "elect" :) And it just comes to show that the more specific you are in your prayers the more the Lord will give you what you want/desire as long as it is a righteous desire. Moral of the story, BE SPECIFIC WHEN YOU PRAY! I pray for just about everybody who is reading this letter every day and night, and if you are thinking "he probably doesn't pray for me."  Then to be honest you are probably right. hahahah Sorry the truth hurts :) :) But ya so that is my "missionary" paragraph.
The work in Luton is going great!! We have every night this week filled with teaching appointments :) I love it! Now lets see if we can get these teaching appointments, to solid investigators, to progressing, to baptised! At the end of the day we are called to baptise people. And that is what we will do! And Elder Nielson and I came up with a wonderful idea how to do that :) Okay so you know how in school if you suck up to the teacher they like you more or give you more of a lead way in certain things... Well Elder Nielson and I, to get these baptisms, are going to "suck up" if you like to our investigators. :)  For example we will make them cookies and say how much we love teaching them and make origami or something cool... haha I mean we aren't doing this just to "suck up" but to show how much we genuinely care for the people we teach. And I believe that if we have the right intentions the Lord will bless us for trying to show more love to those we are teaching. :) So that is our direction at the moment of how we can help people come unto Christ. Pretty smart innit :) :)
Well that is another weekly letter from Elder D "dubb" I love my mission, I miss my oldest sister, I know we will see her again, I miss my other sisters as well :), my family means the world to me, I am truly excited to train my "younger brother," the mission is flying by, I am so excited for Olivia, I cannot wait to tell you how this whole "sucking up"thing will go, but most of all.... I love you!
Have a lovely week!
Continue to tear it up in soccer Shananu.
Sell some houses mum.
Work hard Dad.
Marae you got the whole world in your hands. Use it wisely.
Peace.

Do you Believe in Miracles?

 Dear Family,
That has got to be the saddest news about Dalton and his brother... Please send my love to their family. A lot of great times with that kid...
It seems as if everything is going swell in Ogden, UT with the Temple open house, boating, soccer tryouts, holiday lighting, and summer life :) :) I saw some pics of the temple on lds.org and the Ogden Temple is gorgeous!!! I cannot wait to go in it and do some temple work again. I miss the temple, although I didn't take full advantage of it when I was at home, (ooopsies) but I have made a resolution to change when I get back! We are far too blessed to have a temple 15 minutes away and not take advantage of it! So if you don't go to the temple on a regular basis, GET THERE!! ha Im not going to lie, I was a bit gutted when I saw that Shanae or Marae didn't e-mail me... Please send me something! Cuz Marae you just graduated from college and you didn't send se some pics... This was like the biggest weekend of your life!!! And Shananu, soccer tryouts... really? You didn't tell me all of the secrets about the girls? And what position you are playing and who made it and who didn't... Im disappointed in you girls... I expected better.... Nothing like a guilt trip. hehe >:) haha I love you anyways :) :)
So the subject of my e-mail indicates that we saw a few miracles this week... And so it will be my pleasure telling you today all about them :)
So at the start of this week we couldn't find anybody! We tried everything and nothing was happening. But that wouldn't get us down! So we continued in the hard work and we decided to stop by a less active/recent convert, whose name is Dom. We visited him and we decided to fast with him on Thursday. But come Thursday we had interviews with the President, and when we have interviews Sister Jordan bakes the most delicious brownies! And not only that the Zone Leaders bought muffins for everybody! So there we (Elder Harding and I) were faced with the biggest decision at the time... Do we brake our fast for the muffins and brownies? Or do we continue fasting with Our RC? After a few calls and prayers we decided to continue our fast, because not only were we fasting for our RC but also for new investigators. One of the toughest decisions of my life!! (Not really, but if you don't make something dramatic nobody will like the story.) So we fasted the whole day and we found a few people who could be interested, but then on Friday we began to see miracles!! :) So Friday after Weekly planning (from 10-12) we headed out to find people to teach and when we left we specifically prayed for somebody that would come to Church. And wouldn't you know it the first guy that we stop he asked us if he could come to church!!!! Like what??!!! So we taught him in the street and we even gave him a date right there in the street and he accepted!! :) #miracle 1
Next one, Saturday night rolls around and we are walking back to the flat and we stop this mum and daughter and had a good gospel convo with them and they told us that they would come to church, but it almost seemed as if they were saying that just to get away from us... haha but they still said they would come to church. So that is a positive so that night we prayed like no other that they would come to church and wouldn't you know it around 10:30 Carol and Kalifa walk through the Church doors!! They stayed the whole time and during sacrament there was a speaker who was talking about how "coincidences" aren't really coincidences, if that makes sense. So we wrote her a note and asked, "Do you think it was a coincidence that we met you last night?" And she said, "No not at all." :)  WEHU!! So we scheduled a time to go over to their house on Thursday and also after Church on Sunday so she can cook us dinner :) :) Because she is from Jamaica so she will cook us Jamaican food :) Random Fact. If I ever meet somebody from a different culture I ask if they can cook us dinner so we can see what kind of food they eat. haha That way you can get into their home, teach them and get a free meal out of it. #cheekylittlemonkey :) #Miracle 2
This one is especially for one of my favourite sisters :) So we had an appointment that fell through on Sunday night so we decided to tract the rest of the doors, and the first door that we knock on a lady named Evette opens up and we start talking about the Gospel and she says, "I will come to your Church, because I am looking for the true Church, and I have been just about everywhere and I haven't been able to find it..." So we expounded off of that for a bit, then we asked her what her 4 year old daughter's name was and she said, "Shanae." And I was blown away!!!! I was like NO WAY!!! THAT IS MY SISTERS NAME!! hahaha and by the way they are a black family.... So Shanae you have a black name! hahah That is saweet!! :) :) So you could say that made my day/week!! :) #Miracle 3
So what I learned this week was that if you do all that you can do to make things happen the Lord will put hose who are prepared in your path to find them. Init amazing how all of these things happen? The first person we stop wants to be baptised, one of the last people we talk to at the end of a long day comes to Church, and the first door we knock on is pretty much related to me :) :) AYE! haha So Miracles definitely happen! And that is what keeps this work going forward. I have told you a lot and to be honest I am a bit wiped out... So those are my miracles for the week. Hope and pray that thes people will continue to grow and progress in this Gospel! I love you and hope that you have a wonderful week!
Love your favourite son,

   Oki dokie family!
I am well happy right now!! Oh my days!! I just love p-day e-mails! :) :) So the Wright Family reunion sounds gr8, everybody said it wasn't the same without me... Im sorry. Mal mal said something really positive though, she said"at least you will be at the next one." :) And how true that is! I can't wait to be reunited as a "Wright" Family and shake a tail feather or two :) Elder Harding and I were totes jealous about you lot going to Jackson Hole though. But we stayed strong and got to work despite our jealousy. :)
I don't really know exactly where to start or what to say so from here on out it is just strictly my thoughts and what I am thinking at this exact moment. >:) hehe So todya for P-day we went to Stevenage and played a bit of football and touch Rugby. And can I jsut say I wish rugby was bigger in the states! It is so much fun! Ugh. I love it! The weather has been well nice for the past 4 weeks or so. Been about 80-85 degrees and sunny so I am sappy. They are saying this week we are supposed to get a "heat wave" and it is supposed to hit 100 degrees!!! But you know how weather men are... They say we are supposed to have "2 feet of snow" but it snows 2 inches... So don't know if I believe them, but I shall let you know next week if I remember. >:)
We have a recent convert from Spain who taught us how to pray in Espanol! So thats pretty legit :) We teach her english and she teaches us spanish, because she needs help with her English to get a job. So we are trying our best to help her and in return we get a bit as well. Elder Harding doesn't like doing it, but I think it will be so effective when we meet somebody from spain and can just talk the gospel in some spanish and then pray with them in spanish they would be like, "This Church must be true! This little white kid just had the interpretation of tongues!! :) " haha
The "Luton" District could be doing a whole lot better. The other Elders just don't seem like they are living up to their potential, so we will see if we can't change that over the next three weeks. haha
Random side tid bit, Caleb you are looking "swoll" if they still use that term over there... IDK but ya you are looking good mate! Keep it up :)
We found some solid people this week!! Yesterday we were fasting as a mission to get 50 baptisms this next month, and Elder Harding and I were fasting to find somebody to put on date this week. So last night we decided to tract for a few more minutes before we went and had dinner at 8 o clock and the last door we knocked on was "the one" :) Her name is Bebhen (pronounced beb-hen haha) She opened the door and said that she was a practicing Christian from Ireland, but Elder Harding and I weren't bothered so we just started teaching her the Restoration and she was very receptive to us and we are seeing her tonight with a RM from the Manchester Mission!! :) And we will extend a date to her for the 30th of August! :) We as a companionship are hoping and praying that we baptise 3 people this month and with it being a 5 weekend month it is most definitely possible :) So we are well excited for her! The next lady is named Suzanna. She is from Portugal (so maybe our Spanish will come in use... huh ;) ) and we knocked on her door she came out and said, "when you knowcked I knew it was you guys. You are a sign from God." And we were stunned! So we agreed with her and said, "Yes we are that sign that you were looking for, when can we meet with you?" So we are seeing her on Saturday with that RM. :) :) She probably won't get baptised till the winter, because she works 9 straight days then has a day off. And in order to get baptised you need to come to Church 3 times.... And during the winter she has three days off a week, so ya winter time is a good time! We might set a date for her in December... Who knows :) :)
So that was my life this week. Went on another exchange with Elder Davis, from American Fork. I asked if he know the Belnaps, but he said no... so that's that. I love going on exchanges though!!! YOu get to know the missionaries so much better and the week seems to fly by when you do it :) Oh Interviews are this week!! Which is when you get to talk to President Jordan by yourself for about 10 minutes. This is critical time as a missionary.... You get ten minutes with President Jordan and for some reason everytime I get talking to him I forget what I wanted to talk about... I always come out a bit gutted but anytime spent with Prezzy J is good enough with me :) #Igetwellnervous haha
But that is lyfe in Elda Wright's life. Going strong! Loving life, cannot get any better. Love it to bits :) : )<3 I just hope and pray that you lot get on as well as I do :)

Love ya like no other! Just to let you know, the Christmas card and a select few other pictures are hanging in my flat. That way I can see you beautiful faces everyday :) :)

 Love,

July 28, 2014

   Family!
Sounds like you are all dandy and great. Going different places, like the rodeo, high school reunion, and next week/this week the family reunion, up in Lake Winnipausakee. :) JK I wish. When I plan our family reunion, that is where we are going. Road trip in an RV to NEW HAmpshire! :) Just like them good ol days :) haha That would be too good to be true. It's amazing how e-mails make you so gosh darn happy!! I open my e-mails every Monday and what do you know "they love me, they really love me" -the Mask. haha That is what I think every week. So cheers for always writing me, even if it is two sentences, it still means the world! :)
My week was fantastic! Luton is the best area I have served in. Mum to put your mind at ease, I was only jumped twice, but Elder Harding performed some karate or something and scared them away. You know how those gangstas don't like those white boys who can do karate.... hahah :) Luton is a safe place. Don't worry. And there are loads of people who are interested in the Gospel! WEHU! I have never been in an area with more than like 25,000 people in it and there are three quarters on a million here so that's well good :) Update real fast on investigators and what have ya. So this week we put three people on date. One has dropped us but the other two are solid. :) One is named Jane, she is from the Ukraine and her mum was baptised in May. Jane is just struggling a bit with the W.o.W. so she needs to quit. Every time we teach them I just think of Kelsey Chritopulous and her trying to teach crazy Ukrainian women like these two :) hahah The other is Richard from Jamaica. He is legit. So considerate and your normal Jamaican bloke. He doesn't sound like the people off of "Cool Runnings" so don't ask. He sounds like a pure Brit. :) Init funny how we are in England and we are teaching a Ukrainian women and a Jamaican? haha This truly is a melting pot. For example there is this place called Bury Park where a whole bunch of Muslims live. And Rhamadan (where they fast during the daytime) finished yesterday so there were loads of parties, traffic was going crazy. So ya. I don't know what I was trying to get at, but I think I was trying to show you that there is every type of race here. I believe over half of the population is from the Middle East. So we have Muslims, Islamic, Seek, Buddhist, and everything in between. Another random fact if you are from Poland, you are Catholic. No ands, ifs, or buts about it. The Polish are kinda like the Hispanics in Utah. They are everywhere!!! But really cool people. :) haha
Elder Harding cracks me up. He is so straight forward, honest, and blunt about everything its unreal. For example, when we talk to people in the street he will just say, "Ya your church isn't true." With no smile, just a straight face. And like if you were to smile they may take it as if you were sarcastic, but not him. No way. He is all seriousness. I am going to see if I can crack him. That is my goal for the next transfer. See if I can make him smile whilst he is talking to people. But shhh don't tell him, this will be our little secret and I will report back to you every week to tell you how it's going. :) hahah He's a good man.
It's well fun being a D.L. cuz you get to know everybody in the district so much better! You make calls to each companionship in your district every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. And ask how they are doing and see how the work is going. We do this thing in our District where we send a "Quote of the Day" over text. Kinda like the Quote board int eh warehouse. :) haha You get some reeaall shtupid (that's how the Brits say stupid) ones but that's the fun of it :) So that's pretty neat. We went on an exchange this week which is when the D.L. and his companion swap places with another companionship. So I went to Dunstable 1 on Wednesday and we had so much fun! We were on bikes the whole time and by then end of the day my butt was bruised but hey that is the joys of being on bikes! We even put somebody on date that day. :) :) Good stuff.
To be honest that is my life. Pretty straight forward, simple, easy, no stress really. haha Seriously doe. All we have to worry about is talking to people about Church. That is pretty easy. You don't have to worry about school, family, money, impressing anybody, nothink (that is how they say nothing.) You just worry about testifying to people :) #Icandothat.
Well I love you to bits. I truly do. If there is anything I can do for you please let me know. Maybe send a letter/postcard, send some chocolate, I am down to do whatever. Just let me know. :) I love you guys!!
Love,
Elder Dayton Wright
