Stake Conference

Dear Fam,
It sounds like Stake Conference was truly inspiring. And it's great to hear that some of it was on Hastening the Work of Salvation, because that is exactly what ours is on this next weekend! I hope President Fagg (Stake President, don't laugh at his name. hehehe >:) ) does the same thing that happened at your Stake Conference, have everybody give the missionaries names of people to go teach :) Because that would be awesome!! Referrals are the best thing in the world!
It sounds like Zandy is doing well with football! :) Zandy make sure you tell the team this quote that I heard from Jack Nicholas in our past district meeting. He said "The harder you try the luckier you get." Isn't that a great quote? I think that is going to be my motto either that or Hakuna Matata. Either one is fine by me :) :) haha That is mental that Zandy goes home in a month or so... Where has the time gone? School is almost over! Summer is almost here! Peeps are getting their mission calls! Graduation is coming up! Holy days! I can see why Kenny Chesney says in his song, "Don't Blink." Life goes by too fast not to enjoy it. So live it up!! :) :)
This week was another wonderful week in the mission field! Training is going surprisingly really well. And it's not because I am a good trainer or anything. In fact its because Elder Wright was so well trained before he came out on his mission that it makes my job easier :) We work very well together and we are finding success in the wonderful area of Witham :) This coming week we have more appointments than we have had for a while and it keeps getting more full :) Erts ser awerserm!! What's even better is that this past week we taught a lady by the name of Katie. At first she cancelled on us and said, "something bad has happened to her so she can't meet with us." And we were gutted. We prepared a great lesson for her and she cancelled on us... Ugh. But to our surprise she texted back and said, "I can actually meet you at 7 in the park." Don't know why she said that.... Actually I think the Man upstairs had something to do with it. :) But anyhoo we met her in the park and the lesson went really well. Elder Wright was slaying with analogies!! I was like oh shhnnappp! Where did you come up with that?? He was saying something to do with ice cream and how we want to share it with peeps and how it makes us happy and how it can make her happy and all this crazy stuff. As you can tell it went right over my head! haha But it was b-e-a-utiful :) And by the end of the lesson we invited her to be baptised! And she said yes!! :) :) :) What what! That has never really happened to me before where they say yes on the first lesson! It was so awesome! We didn't give her a date for the baptism, but we did ask her to read and pray about the Book of Mormon, and she said that she has read from it already so we are very happy with her and that whole situation :) :) I love "greeny" missionaries because they have this hope and faith that they can baptise everybody and they just want to do missionary work! Its so much fun to see Elder Wright just in the past couple of days watch him improve and see him start to get more confident in himself and be more willing to talk to EVERYONE :) It makes me very happy. Elder Wright is a very funny kid. He makes me laugh :) The things that he says, the things that he does, and his mannerisms are so funny! And the best thing is that he is a wonderful singer! So I am going to take lessons from him, but he is charging me 10 pounds a lesson... so can you send me more money? hahah Just kiddin he's not making me pay, but I do need money. Like today! I am starting my driving and it is 56 pounds so I need some more mullah :) Im kinda scared to drive tho. Cuz the roads are half the size to the US and you drive on the opposite side. You use the stick with your left hand. Everything is different and I just might kill myself.... #prayforDayton #imabitnervous
Well fam have a great week :) And as the summer approaches just remember the way you felt when you went to Hawaii... You missed me and wanted me to come, so don't go anywhere too fun :) Like you better not go to " Lake Winnipasaukee. That's W-i-n-n-i-p-a-s-a-u-k-e-e, two A's and two E's..... perfect. Thank you ladies I am crazy about you especially you Betty." :) :) hahah What about Bob. What a film. :) haha I love you guys and pray for you constantly! I know the Lord blesses us as we are more obedient. President Jordan says, "Obedience brings blessings, Exact Obedience brings Miracles." So if you want something amazing to happen look at your life, What are you lacking or what do you need to improve on, and if you do this you will soon see the Lord's hand in your life and you will start to see Miracles :) A bit harsh, but true. :) I love you and hope you have a wonderful week!
Love,
Elder Dayton Wright

Looking Grown Up

Dear Family,
I liked how in your e-mail mum you were saying how I look more grown up, but umm.... I think I look younger. The only difference between the "old" me and the "new" me is a fatter face. hahah :( ER mer gersh erm ser fert! It sounds like the whole fam damily is doing well. I wish I could have gone with all of you to Cali. That seems like a great trip! :) But was even seems more great is Mothers day this Sunday!!! Woot Woot!! :) Can you say skype!!?? :) :) haha the person you need to look up or whatever you do is jonny.griffin If you add him as a friend things should go just fine :) I can't wait to see you but until that time I will tell you about my week.
This week was stupendous! We saw and continue to see so many miracles!! For example, we were about to go teach this appointment at 2 o' clock and at about 1.30 they texted and said we were up sick all night last night. can we reschedule? So we reluctantly we said yes. But we were so gutted, but we stuck to our back up plans anyway, which was to go find people in the town centre. As we were walking to the town centre we stopped this bloke that was walking pretty fast and it looked as if he was on a mission to go kill somebody. But we weren't bothered. In the England London Mission we are bold! Like lions!! :) So we asked him, would you like to be with your family forever? And he stopped and began swearing at us!! And we were like maybe we do fear men... :) JK LOL But after a bit he cooled down and he said its funny you should ask me that. I am going to go talk to my mrs. because we are having marital problems. So we looked at each other and just started to testify about everything there is in the book. We went from families to Joseph Smith to who knows what and during that whole time his whole persona changed. He went from swearing, agitated, and jumpy to being calm, respectful, and understanding. It was amazing! The spirit was so strong and it made us so so sos so happy!! :) Afterwards we said a prayer with him and after the prayer he said, "I feel a lot better. I am glad you stopped me and started to talk to me, because before I was going to go talk to my mrs. and probably ruin our relationship but know I feel calm and relaxed." After he said that we were like Darrell (thats his name) that is the spirit testifying to you that these things are true! Can we meet up again? And he said Ya of course. So we met up again and to make long story short we taught an amazing first lesson and invited him to be baptised and he said YES!! So that is saweet!! :) :) :) We are very happy! We are truly seeing the Lord's hand in the work. It is wonderful! And we had so many other miracles just like this the whole week!!
I am terribly sorry, but I have to go. don't have much time but we get to skype on Sunday!!!!!!!!!! WEHUWEHU!! I cant wait!! :) :) :) :) I am thinking about 7.30 should be grand :) I love you family and I cannot wait to see your B-e-a-utiful faces :)
  Much love
Elder Dayton Wright

Dear family,

I'll start off the same way I always do, It sounds like the family is doing great! haha I swear I say that everytime, but its true. Every time you write me I think why wasn't life this good when I was home ;) jk Lol.  I know you guys are just lying to me anywaysso whatevs ;) haha

So Easter was GR8!! I did receive your package :) Thank you so so much :) Those Easter Eggs... you know me way too well :) hahah But the only problem is those things make me fart. Sorry but sometimes the truth hurts. haha Bless ya for sending me clothes but I don't need clothes... Sorry I am not trying to be ungreatful its just that I don't need those kind of clothes. Some ties or short sleeve shirts would be cool ;) Wow I sound like a spoiled little brat. hehe But what can I do?? Im living the London high lyfe!

Easter Sunday was awesome!! Elder Gore and I gave talks in the ward :) It's bere weird, when you get on a mission you want to speak in sacrament... I don't even know why, but it's like just your time to introduce yourself and gain the trust of the members. So it's precious time! ha But toher than that this week, everythingn was the same.

  MOVES CALLS!!

We received the moves calls this week and the trio is splitting up. Thank goodness!! Ugh. I am happy that that is over with. Not that it was terrible or anything but we just didn't get any missionary work done. I mean who wants to talk to three blokes on the street? Two is scary enough and when you have a third it's just like we are Jehovah's Witnesses'. hah It's a good thing that is done with :) The weird thing is that Elder Gore and I aren't staying together unfortunately :( He is moving as well.... When President called us he said, "Elder Wright you are going to be training a new missionary. Come to South Kensington tomorrow morning and pick him up." AHAHAHAHHHHHHHHH I am so so mervous but excited all at the same time!! My emotions are mental right now!! I need to teach this missionary all that I can, and make sure that I train him the right way. Crazy. Whats even more crazy is his name... You would never guess it. Go on, take a guess. Have you guessed yet? hehe His name is Elder. . .  . . Wright. Square down. His name is Elder Wright. What the heck??? :):) haha who woulda guessed? He is from Compton in LA, 10 in his family and he is balck so thats sick :) hahah But isn't that crazy? Both of us are Elder Wright... Think of all the jokes that will be made with us? As Elder Wright you hear all the jokes in the book, but now there are two... and they are companions... If that doesn't scream Heavenly Father has a sense of humor I don't know what will!!! :) haha So yup. Thats my life right now. The trio is gonezo. Elder Wright is now my "son" haha and Witham is a blessed place. What more can you ask for?

I love you all so much. I pray for you everyday all day. You guys have made the biggest impact on my life you have no idea! Thanks for that. Sorry this is so short, but I just got back from London to pick up Elder Wright. haha So time is limited. Anywho

Love Ya

Love,

Elder Wright

PPS Oh I heard a good quote from Elder Ballard I think it was.

"Boys go on missions to become men, Men go on missions to England to become Leaders." Not saying I am going to be a leader or anything, but it just shows that the ELM is the favourite mission in the world :) :) :) hahah

Boxers, Witches, and Satan, Om MY!

My Fam!

It sounds like everybody is doing well :) Other than Shanae... Im sorry you got a concussion in your football game. That stinks. haha You are going to have to e-mail all the detes of how it happened, I mean if you can remember ;) AYE!! hehe Init crazy how its already April!! Where does the time go? I honestly cannot believe how fast the misssion is going by. It's kinda scary. Before you know it I will be giving my homecoming talk just like Brandon did. That is awesome that he is home and doing well! I remember how he would come to our house every summer and work down at the warehouse and paint the deck... Oh my days did he love doing that :) hahahah And Hayden and I would make fun of him while he was working, becuase he hated it sooo much >:) haha Those were some good times! This is going to sound really weird and I might regret saying this, but I kind of miss working at the warehouse... Not because I loved working there, but because the people there were awesome!! I mean you got Hayden, Dario, Rocque, and Adamal who are probs the best people in the world to work with! Then you got Shananu, Marae (she was promoted to the office, so we didn't see much of her) and all of Shanae's friends who got caught into the snares of good ol Derick luring them into coming and work!! :) :) haha It was like a big ol family! It was great :) But the work was terrible. I did not like it. Nope. Not one bit. haha But sometimes a man has gotta do what a man has gotta do. (Mrs. Doubtfire) Random quote. What do you do after you box them? You ship em you smart aleck... haha Mrs Doubtfire. What a film!! Remember how we used to watch that film just about every Sunday? That film and The Sound of Music? That was always good fun :) #familybonding #thehillsarealivewiththesoundofmusic. Enough of this chit chat.

This week in the mission field flew by! I am pretty sure I say that every single week, but every week goes by faster! The days seem like an eternity sometimes, but the weeks seem like days... Riddle me how that one works out :) haha We did not teach very many people this week, in fact we only had one solid lesson. Which was about 15 minutes long. So that was fun :) Other than that teaching appointment, we tracted.... A lot. OYM (Open your mouth) or in other words you just go to town centre and talk with everybody you see. Stopped by Potential Investigators and provided service :) Out of all of these things that we did we came across some funny people so lemme tell ya about them :)

So we (the fabulous trio) were tracting some road and it was my turn to give the "door approach" and so I knocked on this door. Somebody started coming to the door, but before they opened it they unlock a top hatch, bottom hatch and three in the middle. And Elder Gore says "Oh no." and tries to hold in a laugh... But it squeks out. (You know like when you are trying not to laugh becuase you would get in trouble? But itstill comes out and Dad catches you... hahah Thats how it was.) And so naturally I start laughing and when the bloke opens the door I try to talk to him, but I am laughing too hard. So I compose myself then try to start again, then he comes out behind the door and all he has on is a girls tank top and his black and white striped boxers!!! So I busted out laughing again!!! hahah Right in his face! I couldn't help myself!! I felt sooo bad, he even asked at one point if I was okay, and I just said, "It's been a long day, and I am tired." And I said that while I was laughing.... Ugh. I felt so bad! But it was soo funny!! :) :) :) :) I might have peed my pants.... haha Don't worry I have repented. So I don't feel guily anymore. haha There is always something different behind each door...  It's a lot like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get. :) Next tracting story.

On Wednesday I went on an exchange with Elder Bright, The District Leader, and we were tracting this street, so we knock on the door, no one answers. Knock again, no one answers. Just as we were about to leave a coin fell out of my hands so I went down to pick it up, and when I stood up the door swung open and this guy started yelling at me saying, "What are you doing? *looks at our badges You don't want to come in here!!! Satan lives in here!!" Then Elder Bright says, "Well I am sure Satan wouldn't want to see us." And Elder bright starts chuckling a bit. Then the Satanic man says, "And why were you moving my mat? That is my property. Don't touch it!" So I just said sorry. I dropped my pound coin. And he said "Well you are darn lucky! Now get outta here!" hahah Some people these days...  It was a whole lot funnier if you there but still worty to tell .... Big gulps Huh? Alright well see ya later.

The highlight of the week doesn't have to do with anybody in Boxers, a Satanic bloke, or tracting. Although we did have some fun times this week doing that, it doenst have anything to do with that :) Later on this past week we asked an older lady if we could halp her in her garden, because we noticed that she was struggling. And she was so relieved. She perked up and was like would you really? That would be so nice of you. You are like angles sent from above. I lost my mum a year ago and she left me the house to fix up and sell. But I don't have enough time to do everything that I need to do. If you could help me out we could get this place looking good in no time. :) haha She didn't say that exactly, but you get the point :) So we went back and helped Carolyn a few times this week and we scheduled for two more times this week :) We are going to bring people from the Ward to hlep us out, and it is going to be so great!! Although we aren't exactly teaching her right now, we are serving her. And when you are in the servic eof your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God. And I think people forget about that sometimes. Although it may sound dumb to go help somebody out in their garden or go hlep them move, or what have ya it makes all the difference. And I think my dad was a really good example of that. I remeber so many instances of when he would come to me and say we are going to help this neighbour down the street with their sprinklers. And I would think, "Mate I got places to go, people to see." But that never went over too well so I went and helped. haha But every time I went and helped, although forced sometimes, I came away with the best feeling :) I think we could all do a little bit better in serving those around us. And the best place to start is in your own home. So I challenge all of you to try perfroming some act of service that you don't already do to somebody in your family. If you do this, you will feel God's love and things will just be better for you.

Thanks again for keeping me in your prayers. It sure is helping :) You guys are the best thing that has ever happened to me :) :) #point4you I love ya and thanks for everything!!

Love

Elder Dayton Wright

ps I will probs get your package tomorrow, because we have Zone Meeting tomorrow.

pps I met a full on witch this week while tracting... forgot to tell that story... Oopisies! :) haha

Transfer

Dear Fam,

Lots to tell ya.

First of all, I am moving to Wittham in Colchester!! I move tomorrow and I am going to be in a trio... One of my companions has been out a transfer less than me and he is from York and uh-mazing at football :) :) Soo we are going to hold a football tournament or go football finding all the time!! That is going to be bare fun! I don't know much about the other bloke, all I know is that he is from Utah. Just like everybody else in this mission... haha But we should have a good time! :) So thats that.

Second, It sounds like hawaii was reeeeall fun, but it sounds like I was missed so much that you guys didn't know what to do with yourselves. Im sorry about that. Maybe that will teach you a lesson... Don't go on fun vacations with out me >:) hah Just kidding. I am glad that you had loads of fun, that makes me happy :)

Okay lets get down and dirty. Here are the detes for my past week. That rhymmed unintentionally. :)

Tuesday- What a night we had! So we went boxing with Phil (our french Investigator) at his flat, and it was so much fun! A little story time real fast. So phil before we went and fought taught us the basics so we wouldn't hurt ourselves and all of that good stuff but then he said this to me, "you can try to hit me as hard as you want and then from time to time I will show you your weaknesses." I said "Alrigth sounds good" As I am laughing, becuase I am about to box this amazing boxer and I have never fought before in my life! We get into the ring and we start. I was making sure I was doing everything he taught us. My stance was picture perfect, my jabs... ooo Golden, upper cuts... could use some work, and my hooks... were eh descent. So we were going at each other but not getting too fiesty. And from time to time you know he said, "From time to time I will show you your weakness?" Ya, he sure showed me!! I swear every two seconds he was punching me in the face!!! And everytime he would say, "Oh, sorry." And he would say it in his French-British accent, which sounds a lot like the PInk Panther accent. So every time he would punch me and say that I would just start cracking up, because his accent was killing me!! So pretty much for 6 minutes I got beat up by this French man who sounds exactly like Jaques Clouseou and I was laughing the whole time!!!! :') :') :') :') hahahaha What a good time!

Another story.

Friday- Friday we went to go teach Ria and we got a ride from Nick Freeman (18 year old) and two of his mates (both non-mormon.)  But before I get inot the story you need some background info. There is a rule that says, You cannot go into a single womans home unless you bring another male who is 18 years or older. And we did not have a male with us... SO we were just going to teach her outside becuase it was about 15 degrees outside and we were teaching a quick lesson. BUt knowing that we didn't have a male coming with us I jokingly asked Rushane, one of Nicks mates to come teaching with us. And he said, "Ya, mate I wanna be cool like chu. I'll come teach." :) Jserious that is what he said. And so we convinced Nick, and his other mate to come teaching with us!! So we go inside and Ria has six of her friends with her!! So we begin our lesson, The word of wisdom, and pretty soon all the girls were asking us questions and Rushane and Carl (nicks other friends, both non-mormon) were andswering the questions!! LIke one question was, "Why can't we have more than one piercing and tatoos? And Carl spoke up and said, "Well we came into the world with this body, and its showing respect to God by not changing it and hurting it." And all of them were like, OOOHHHH that makes sense. :) :) And I was just sitting in the corner laughing, becuase we have two non-members anwsering questions about the word of wisdon!! :) :) :) It was such a great lesson :)

This week Elder Dowdle was sick for about two whole days!!! So i just sat in the flat and tried just to keep myslef sane! I read the scriptures, watched a few DVD's in a fort that I built :) drew Lehi's dream, and much much more! hahah It was so boring, and he was just fast asleep the whole time!! I secretely think that he was faking it on one day, his birthday. His birthday was yesterday and he was completely fine. Or at least to me he seemed completely fine. And he was like naww mate I need to sleep this off. So that was a bit rubbish, but what can you do? I shouldn't judge anyways. That's bad stuff :) :) haha #WWJD Speaking of BIrthdays......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ARE TURNING 35!! Dang gurl you hawt!! :) haha and also shout out to CALEB!! ITs his birthday on the 21st!! So everybody throw him a hug and kiss from me :) :) I love that kid!

Well, this is my last letter from the LGC and I have been officially out for 6 months, wow time flies! Hey Mum, It is mothers day on March 30th over here. YOu think I am allowed to skype twice? Once for this Mothers day and one for the American? hah Should I ask president about it? haha Just kidding. I would just get rebuked. But that sounds quite nice. Doesn't it :) Anyways I love you guys and just know that your son is the same old son. Just more spiritual and grown up now... Even though I look like im 16, but still, I am great and super happy! I love you guys more than I can exprees in words! So I LOVE YOU!! Will have to do :) :)

Have a great week, ANd here is a quick quote to keep you going throughout the week :)

If you can smile when things go wrong and say it doesnt matter,

If you can laugh off acres and wo and trouble makes you fatter,

If you can keep a cheerful face when all around are blue,

Then have your head examined but there's something wrong with you,

For one thing I've arrive at there are no ands and buts,

A guy thats grinnig all the time must be completely nuts.

hahah Just remember that! :) :) Keep your head up and smile :)

I love you guys

Love,

Your favourite son

Elder Wright

Ps. We were in district meeting and we had a training on extending Baptismal invites and this is what the ZL said, "Extending baptismal dates is a lot like kissing the girl that you like for the first time. Yes, its nerve racking, but afterwards its well worth it." :) :) Every guy that just read that knows where I am coming from, but I would agree on both sides of that, it is well worth it :* haha

Love you!!

Dear Mum,

What a week! So im basically just going to be talking about the weekend in this letter for two reasons, first it was your favourite kids birthday, (notice how I said kid and not son?? >:) Shneaky lil devil I am) and second we had Ria's baptism!!! :)

My Birthday!

What a day!! The whole day I was just asking Elder Dowdle, "Guess what?" And before he could answer I would say, "It's my Birthday!!" (: He was well annoyed by the time the day was over, but shoot I didn't care! It was my birthday and I can do whatever I want on my birthday!! :) haha We went over to a members home on my birthday and they brought me out this huge Brownie cake with a fire work on top!! It was crazy!! :) :) And it tasted sooo good :) I received some presents from Grandma and Grandpa, The Jazuski family, and the Buddles (where we ate dinner) I never did receive your little package of goods Mum.... Sooo lets hope I get it this week :) :) One thing that I noticed about my birthday a couple years ago, was that it was Kalena's half year anniversary. I was thinking more about her on my birthday than I was thinking about myself. It was really good. So I just wanted to share my side of the story of what happened on that day, because my side of the story is so different compared to the rest of the fams. Here it goes,

I remember getting home from school and there was either a note or mum called me and said "Stephanie is going to come pick you up in a bit but make sure you do your homework before then." So I was like WEHU!!! I was on cloud 9! I was going to Haydens house on a school day! That never happened. So before Steph picked me up I made sure that I did my homework, because I am a good kid like that ;) And I remember just having the BEST time at Haydens house!!! :) I couldn't have been happier :) And pretty soon I noticed it was getting really late and I was thinking to myself, Geez, when is my Mum going to come pick me up? Then Steph told me Hey your mum will be here in a few minutes get ready to go. So i was like okay cool.... Then the doorbell rang....

I remember walking to the door and all four of you were on the porch standing there with these gloomy faces and I didn't notice Kalena there with you, but I just thought that she would be in the car because she was tired from the race or something... Then Mum broke the news to me... I remember so well just running right into your arms and crying my eyes out!! I couldn't believe what had happened it took me so long just to get over the fact that she was gone. It was heart breaking. But I strongly remember the great support we had from family and friends. The greatest support I personally received was from Hayden Shaw. I went over to his house for the next three or four days just to try to take my mind off of things.... And that meant so much to me! I don't think I could've gone through that without the support that we had from all of our friends and family, so thank you :)

So when ever my birthday comes around I do think of myself, but I always think of Kalena and how great of a sister she was and how great it is going to be to see her again :) I have come to realise that Kalenas death is a blessing in my life. Because as a missionary people are always wondering why bad things happen to good people and how 55 is too young to die, So I speak up and say do you think 18 is too young to die and of course they say yes, then I go on and bare testimony about this church. Yes it is rubbish that that happened to us. But I believe in the wise words of Billy Joel, Only the good die young. How true that is... Sorry Grandma and grandpa... I guess you weren't "good" enough >:)  haha But enough about that. I just thought that I should share that, because that is all I though about this weekend so I thought it was worthy to go in my e-mail. haha

Sunday- Ria's Baptism!!! :) That was so satisfying/rewarding, because we tracted into her, taught her, then baptised her :) :) I think that was Heavenly Fathers way of saying Happy Birthday to me? :) haha It was a great service!! Ria brought 10 or more friends to the baptism!! And Elder Dowdle and I are teaching one of her other friends Kiera, and we think that we can set up a baptismal date with her so that should be really good :) All in all it was a great weekend! Possibly one of the best yet!! :) I cannot believe that I have almost been out for 6 months!! Yes it is 2 weeks away, but still time is flying by!!! :) :) Which makes me really happy :)

Thanks for everything you guys are doing for me! Keep sending your prayers this way, and I will continue to send prayers your way. Does that sound like a deal?? Okay perfect. That's a deal :)

I love you and befor you know it Mum it is going to be your birthday... And then that officially means that I am 6 months out!! :) So thats cool :)

I love you guys!! Thanks for the support!! :)

Love,

Elder Wright
