My Fam!
It sounds like everybody is doing well :) Other than
Shanae... Im sorry you got a concussion in your football game. That
stinks. haha You are going to have to e-mail all the detes of how it
happened, I mean if you can remember ;) AYE!! hehe Init crazy how its already
April!! Where does the time go? I honestly cannot believe how fast the misssion
is going by. It's kinda scary. Before you know it I will be giving my
homecoming talk just like Brandon did. That is awesome that he is home and
doing well! I remember how he would come to our house every summer
and work down at the warehouse and paint the deck... Oh my days did he
love doing that :) hahahah And Hayden and I would make fun of him while he was
working, becuase he hated it sooo much >:) haha Those were some good times!
This is going to sound really weird and I might regret saying this, but I kind
of miss working at the warehouse... Not because I loved working there, but
because the people there were awesome!! I mean you got Hayden, Dario, Rocque,
and Adamal who are probs the best people in the world to work with! Then you
got Shananu, Marae (she was promoted to the office, so we didn't see much of
her) and all of Shanae's friends who got caught into the snares of good ol
Derick luring them into coming and work!! :) :) haha It was like a big ol
family! It was great :) But the work was terrible. I did not like it. Nope. Not
one bit. haha But sometimes a man has gotta do what a man
has gotta do. (Mrs. Doubtfire) Random quote. What do you do after you box
them? You ship em you smart aleck... haha Mrs Doubtfire. What a film!! Remember
how we used to watch that film just about every Sunday? That film and The Sound
of Music? That was always good fun :) #familybonding
#thehillsarealivewiththesoundofmusic. Enough of this chit chat.
This week in the mission field flew by! I am
pretty sure I say that every single week, but every week goes by faster! The
days seem like an eternity sometimes, but the weeks seem like days... Riddle me
how that one works out :) haha We did not teach very many people this week, in
fact we only had one solid lesson. Which was about 15 minutes long. So that was
fun :) Other than that teaching appointment, we tracted.... A lot. OYM
(Open your mouth) or in other words you just go to town centre and talk with
everybody you see. Stopped by Potential Investigators and provided service
:) Out of all of these things that we did we came across some funny people
so lemme tell ya about them :)
So we (the fabulous trio) were tracting some
road and it was my turn to give the "door approach" and so I
knocked on this door. Somebody started coming to the door, but
before they opened it they unlock a top hatch, bottom hatch and three in
the middle. And Elder Gore says "Oh no." and tries to hold in a
laugh... But it squeks out. (You know like when you are trying not to laugh
becuase you would get in trouble? But itstill comes out and Dad catches you...
hahah Thats how it was.) And so naturally I start laughing and when the bloke
opens the door I try to talk to him, but I am laughing too hard. So I compose
myself then try to start again, then he comes out behind the door and all he
has on is a girls tank top and his black and white striped boxers!!! So I
busted out laughing again!!! hahah Right in his face! I couldn't help myself!!
I felt sooo bad, he even asked at one point if I was okay, and I just said,
"It's been a long day, and I am tired." And I said that while I was
laughing.... Ugh. I felt so bad! But it was soo funny!! :) :) :) :) I might
have peed my pants.... haha Don't worry I have repented. So I don't feel guily
anymore. haha There is always something different behind each door...
It's a lot like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to
get. :) Next tracting story.
On Wednesday I went on an exchange with Elder Bright,
The District Leader, and we were tracting this street, so we knock on the door,
no one answers. Knock again, no one answers. Just as we were about to
leave a coin fell out of my hands so I went down to pick it up, and when I
stood up the door swung open and this guy started yelling at me saying,
"What are you doing? *looks at our badges You don't want to come in here!!!
Satan lives in here!!" Then Elder Bright says, "Well I am sure Satan
wouldn't want to see us." And Elder bright starts chuckling a
bit. Then the Satanic man says, "And why were you moving my mat? That is
my property. Don't touch it!" So I just said sorry. I dropped my pound
coin. And he said "Well you are darn lucky! Now get outta here!"
hahah Some people these days... It was a whole lot funnier if
you there but still worty to tell .... Big gulps Huh? Alright well see ya
later.
The highlight of the week doesn't have to do with
anybody in Boxers, a Satanic bloke, or tracting. Although we did have some fun
times this week doing that, it doenst have anything to do with that :) Later on
this past week we asked an older lady if we could halp her in her garden,
because we noticed that she was struggling. And she was so relieved. She perked
up and was like would you really? That would be so nice of you. You are like
angles sent from above. I lost my mum a year ago and she left me the house to
fix up and sell. But I don't have enough time to do everything that I need to
do. If you could help me out we could get this place looking good in no time.
:) haha She didn't say that exactly, but you get the point :) So we went back
and helped Carolyn a few times this week and we scheduled for two more times
this week :) We are going to bring people from the Ward to hlep us out, and it
is going to be so great!! Although we aren't exactly teaching her right now, we
are serving her. And when you are in the servic eof your fellow beings ye are
only in the service of your God. And I think people forget about that
sometimes. Although it may sound dumb to go help somebody out in their garden
or go hlep them move, or what have ya it makes all the difference. And I think
my dad was a really good example of that. I remeber so many instances of when
he would come to me and say we are going to help this neighbour down the street
with their sprinklers. And I would think, "Mate I got places to go, people
to see." But that never went over too well so I went and helped. haha
But every time I went and helped, although forced sometimes, I came away with
the best feeling :) I think we could all do a little bit better in serving
those around us. And the best place to start is in your own home. So I
challenge all of you to try perfroming some act of service that you don't
already do to somebody in your family. If you do this, you will feel God's love
and things will just be better for you.
Thanks again for keeping me in your prayers. It sure is helping
:) You guys are the best thing that has ever happened to me :) :)
#point4you I love ya and thanks for everything!!
Love
Elder Dayton Wright
ps I will probs get your package tomorrow, because we have
Zone Meeting tomorrow.
