    Family.
Seems like you had a lovely week! :) haha I missed out, but thats okay because I can come next year :) Can you believe it?!! 10 months!! CRAZY! Time flies. And I love that it does :)
So mum, I shouldn't tell you this so don't read it okay. Don't read it. You won't want to know.
Okay so Luton has been rated the worst place to live in England for three years running.... And mostly because the crime rate is so terrible, drugs are crazy, and every type of nationality lives here!!! So you got a white kid from Ogden, UT living amongst this gangsta paradise. #thisismyplacetobe :) haha Luton is a city with about 750,000 people living here, a whole lot bigger than Witham and the LGC. haha So that is a background of Luton. (If you read that mum you are so rebellious :) ) I am going to have so much fun here!! I am going to learn as many languages as I can. I have learned quite a bit of Shonah, which is an African language. Polish, Spanish of course, and Romanian. :) I am hoping to be able to come back and speak multiple languages :)
My companion... haha He is so funny! He is from Lehi, UT and is pretty geeky. I love him to bits though :) I"ll have to see if I can attach a picture, but I am in an internet cafe and they don't allow it sometimes so i'll see if I can :) because we have a few pictures together and the pictures say it all :) :)
There is nothing different between a District Leader and a normal missionary. All a DL does is call people.... haha seriously doe. Thats the only difference. But it is quite fun talking to all the missionaries so that's good. This District is proper small. There is us, Luton, Dunnstable 1 and Dunstable 2. That's it. And the saddest news.... NO SISTERS!!! UGH. kill me! Everybody knows sisters are the best and we don't have any... So that puts a real damper on things. Sisters>>> Girls, go on a mission. It's the best thing you could do. :)
The ward is a great ward. About 60 people come out to Church each week... Kinda small, but hopefully we change that :) One of my favourite parts about Luton is that it is right next to the LGC so I have seen a lot of people from my first area already!! And that brightens up my day :)
I don't what else to really say. hmmm... Random fact about Elder Harding, he does not like musicals, or Disney films! Like who the heck are you? (The Who) That makes em well sad, because all I do is quote Open season, Ice Age, The Grinch, Tangled, and every other Disney film in the book.... So that sucks! But what can I do? So guess what I will be doing for the next 6 weeks... hehehe >:) Singing, Do you want to build a snowman... Or let it go, let it go... Just kidding, I don't know those songs, but if you want to you can send me that CD, (Frozen) :) That would be cool. And don't worry, we are aloud to listen to it on the mission, so please send it :) :) Cheers Luv.
So that's my life at this time. I will summarise it in this final paragraph.
My name is Elder Dayton Wright, I am serving with Elder Alec Harding, who is from Lehi, UT, we are serving in the armpit of England. (Luton) It has been proper hot this week!! Like 85 degrees and the whole time I have been sweating like a pig! NO joke I sweat when we are in the flat, because we don't have AC.... Ugh. Grody. I love this District, got some dang good missionaries init. And we will see miracles this transfer. And btw the quote of this transfer for me is... We don't believe in Miracles, we depend on them. :) Deep init :) Alright so that is my life! I love you to the moon and back and hope you all have another splendid week in Utah or wherever you go :) :)

Love,
Your favorite child,
Dayton Wright

Ps. Sorry can't send pictures...  Love you anyways :)

July 12, 2014

   Family.
It seems as if you and all of your adventures are treating you swell. Every week I am out here the less I care what goes on back at home... hahah that sounds really bad, but it's true. #doesthathurt? :) Don't take that the wrong way, I still love to hear what is going on and all the dirty little secrets, but it doesn't phase me as much as it used to, so that's nice :)
I am really excited about these transfers :) So I am not going to London, but I am going back to the same stake that I was in before (St. Albans) and I will be serving in Luton as the District Leader. :) Apparently Luton is the armpit of England.... but I love me some b.o. so I guess that one works out :) haha what am I saying? ... But I am well excited to go to Luton!!! Not because of being a District Leader, but I might see some of the members from the LGC :) :) :) And that makes me happy!!! And my companion is Elder Harding, who has been out a transfer longer than me, and he is a solid bloke. I am really excited to learn from him :) Elder Wright and I had a few ups and downs along these past 12 weeks, but we are leaving on good terms so thats brilliant! To be honest it was tough, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stand a little taller! :)
Besides transfers happening this week, we had loads happen. So first off President Jordan said we could watch the Final of the World Cup on Monday. So we had a member of the bishopric record it then we were able to watch it!!! OH HAPPY DAYS! I was gutted when Germany scored.... But that goal.... mmm that was brilliant! When I was watching the match all of my memories of me playing football came flooding back to me.... And oh my days, I miss it!! Probably more than my family. hahahahah Rude. Sorry. Wasn't the truth. But I cannot wait to go back and play in a proper match. It is going to be well fun :) :) So that was kinda nice. Are you ready for a miracle? This will blow your mind! So on Friday we were at the Library doing the progress record, finished it, came out and started to talk to everybody that was in our path. There was about a line of seven or so people one right after another and we tried to stop every single one, but one after another they all said something along the lines of,  " No, im busy... Not interested... I don't care what you do..." (That was pretty funny) or they just didn't even acknowledge us, and then it came to the last bloke. Who stands 6'4 about 185 pounds, looks kinda like a string been. haha And we were like Hey we are missionaries, who talk about Jesus Christ..... And he was like, "Wait, do you follow the teachings of Jesus Christ?" And of course our faces lite up, because nobody had given us the time of day. So we started testifying to him and teaching him, and the whole time he was like yes I agree with that. After a few short minutes he said he had to go, but we scheduled to meet with him that night. We met him in the courts (the ghetto of Witham) and started talking about Jesus and our Church and he was going right along with it the whole time. And as missionaries you don't get people who are like that very often... So we gave him a date for the 27th of July and he accepted!!! And just yesterday he called and said, "I have decided I am going to stop doubting myself and just go on this path, because this is the right path." :) :) :) Isn't that the best thing you ever did hear!!??? We met him on the 11th and he is getting baptised on the 27th... 16 days. That's mental init. haha His name is Duncan by the way, so if you want to pray for him that would be much appreciated :) Cheers. It truly is amazing how the Lord is willing to bless his missionaries if they are consistent and persistent. We could have stopped trying after the 3rd person and just thought, nobody is going to listen anyways so why bother, but we did not. We were acting out of pure faith and hoping for the best, and we got it!!! Get in :) :) #miracle :)
As you can see family, life in Witham has treated me well, but its time to trust my instincts close my eyes and leap. It's time to try defying gravity! haha Luton is calling my name! Pray for me. I will need all the help I can get. ha Love all of you to the moon and back! <3

  Love,
Elder Dayton Wright

ps Please keep Mandy, Chelsea, and Marley in your prayers that they stay strong in the church :) Cheers

We also went to Chelsea's play!! It was well good :) :) Don't mind my face... haha

Saying goodbye to the English family. Lovely family.

4th of July

July 3, 2014

  Fam.
Boating.
Yup.
Looks.
Great.
Cheers.
ILY.
It was well weird not being home with you for the fourth and your fun little adventures to pine view and what have ya. But none the less it looks like it is "just another day in paradise." :) I am starting to miss summer now. haha It took this long, but I kinda miss it. I think it's just because I saw all of the pictures from boating and peoples adventures it makes me miss it. But after e-mails it is back to work :) Just as an fyi next week I will write on Tuesday, because it is transfers this coming week. Pray that I go to London :) :) #Whitechapel.
Well I had another wonderful week in the field!! Full of tear jerkers, happy times, and fun times :)
I need to tell you something that may make you cry. Not because it is sad, but it is just so gosh darn precious!! :) So Mandy, Chelsea and Marley figured out that transfers are next week and so when we went around to their house after church they gave us a "surprise." This surprise touched me to the soul. It was a card that they gave to us. And this is what it said. And I quote. (This is from the kids. And don't worry about the mistakes, that is how they wrote it. Don't judge.)
"Prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, Please bless our missionaries they have been so good and helpful to us and changed our lives. Please watch over them in their new journey ahead and keep them safe we wish them the best and hope that they are happy, and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ AMEN." And on the other side of the card was...
"speech.
Im not very good at speeches so I wrote a poem instead.
Elder Wright's

Extreme friends
Loving elders
Dedecated people
Enigetic spirits
Real mormans

Wonderful company
Rare teachers
Impressive work
Good guys
Hungry tummies
Totally mad
Special little soldiers.

We will miss you.

:') <3 doesn't that just touch you to the very core? I about cried when they read that. And then Mandy comes along and shares her card with us which reads,
"Elder Wright Brothers  I don't want you to leave us, we love you. You have done so much for us, your the best, your like my boys. I respect and love you guys, you got big hearts and big souls and fantastic friends. Bless u. You have changed me, if you go, you'll take me with you, half my heart. Your part of my family forever a tear to my eyes a rip to my hear. Mandy. In the name of Jesus Christ amen." :) OH MY DAYS!! Mum if that doesn't make you proud/cry I don't know what will!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) My mission is complete. I'm done. I might just come home now and that way we can go boating and what have ya :) haha I love them so much. They mean so much to me. So that's that. :)

Then today we went to the Tour de France! It was so cool!!!!!!!! It is the third largest sporting event in the world... Didn't know that.  And the atmosphere is really fun. It's a lot like a cross country race. You wait at one area for about 5 minutes (for us it was 3 hours) and then you see them for about 10 seconds and that is it. haha It was really cool though, because that is probably the only chance I will ever have to watch the Tour. So that made me really happy! :) :) And I even caught a polka dot hat which I will use for boating next year >:)

Sorry I am out of time. Cut short today, because of the race. I love you. You have no idea how much you all mean to me. Seriously if you are reading this, you mean a lot to me. Even if you don't think you do... trust me, you do! Love you! XOXO

Every Rose has its Throne

HIYA!

So I am writing you today, because moves calls/week is this week. And I am....... Staying with Elder Wright!!! :) :) So funny story behind that. We were interviewing Mandy and Chelsea for their Baptism this next Sunday and out of the blue the phone rings and it is President.... I answered the phone and he said "Elder Wright, do you want to stay or go?" More or less. And I thought to myself for a good while what I wanted to do and I said President I would love to stay! :) So we are staying together. Now you may be thinking I thought you and Elder Wright weren't the best of friends... But that was last week and its a new week! I love him. I noticed it was all my fault too.... I was telling myself why I didn't like him instead of reasons why I loved him! And the reasons why I love him out weigh the bad any day!! Isn't there a quote that says Every rose has its thorn? I am not saying that Elder Wright is good looking or anything I am just saying that he is a great bloke and he has very small or no thorns at all. :) haha *awkward* But ya so there is that :)

This week was pretty dang good! We were just really focusing on Mandy and Chlesea, because there baptism is this coming Sunday!!! WEHU! We saw them every single day and they are so excited about their baptism! They are "golden" investigators :) Mandy is scared of going under the water, because when she was a kid she got run over by a glass bottom boat and she could see everybody looking at her when the boat ran over her so you could say she is a bit put off about the water... Crazy story init?! But ya she will be just fine, hopefully when she gets baptized she won't freak out under the water... haha that would be a story to tell :)

We have invited another lady to be baptized on the 28th of June and oddly enough her name is June! I think it is meant to be :) haha She seems really promising! We taught her on Kalena's Birthday so you best believe I was testifying about how families can be together forever! :) I think that is the greatest blessing in my life right now. As terrible as that sounds. But with that you can relate to every single person! And it helps so much, because if it wasn't for that my life woulda been a whole lot easier and less trial some. In all honesty that is really the only thing that went wrong in my life. So I am so blessed! And nobody likes a missionary saying that "They can make it through anything as long as they rely on God." If they have never had to rely on God before. At the time and still to this day I am gutted about the whole experience but it blesses my life more than you could imagine! So count your many blessings! :)

I am loving my mission! I cannot stress that enough. This is the greatest thing that anybody could do! Yes, it may be tough sometimes. Noticed how I said sometimes, and not all the time? I live by a quote that goes life's what you make is so lets make it rock! That is from the one the only Miley Cyrus! :) haha just  kidding but those words are very true. Nobody can put you in a bad mood. You have to choose to be the way you are. I remember Dad always telling us kids that nobody could make us mad and I was like, "Girl please! You make me mad all the time!" hahah But it's so true you have to choose to act the way you do. #thetruth

I love you guys and thank you so much for continuing to write me! Love you to bits

Dear FAMILY!!!

Roses are Red, Violets are blue, I'm a schizophrenic and so am I. :)

Martha may who-via I HATE YOU!! Hate, hate, hate, LOADS entirely!!

Black mail, Jury duty, pink slip, black mail, jury duty....

I call this a moon burn :) :)

Lefty loosey, righty tighty.

Okay now that I got that out of my system, I can write.

Er jesrt lerv mer merssern!! Talk about an amazing week in the mission field! :) Sorry I am being selfish, just talking about myself. It sounds like you guys are totes perf. Okay back to my week >:) hahah

Let's start with the baptism yesterday :) We baptized Mandy and Chelsea who Elder Wright and I found, taught and baptized :) :) We have grown really close to them and to see them progress and come to the realization that this church is true is the best feeling in the world! Mandy went from smoking 30-40 cigarettes a day to zero. We gave her a priesthood blessing and afterwards she stopped. Just like that. Mental that is. Chlesea is super duper smart. She understands the Gospel better than a 16 year old priest. She is so smart :) She even said the closing prayer at her baptism and said something along the lines of, "Now that we are on the right path, please help us to continue on the straight and narrow, and lead us away from the bad things." :) An 11 year old said that prayer. That's awesome! The baptism went over really well :) No cannon balls or crazy events. haha Just picturesque it was. Spirit was present. The ward was there. And Mandy and Chlesea loved it! What more can you ask for? Great finish to a great week!!

On Saturday evening we were teaching this lady named June. We taught her the first lesson a week back and gave her a date for the 29th of June. She accepted it and everything was golden. Saturday we talked about the Plan of Salvation. We opened up the lesson with Dieter F. Uchtdorf's Mormon Message, "Our true identity." Which talks about the ugly duckling becoming this marvelous swan. (you should watch it if you haven't) And we related that to her. How we are all sons and daughters of our loving Heavenly Father and then went on to teach her about the Plan of Happiness :) During the lesson we taught the Word of Wisdom, Law of Chastity, and Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. The first two she was fine with. But keeping the Sabbath day Holy she wouldn't accept it. And we were being so persistent with her by the end of the lesson it seemed as if we were trying to FORCE her to come to Church. But she wouldn't budge. Even after the closing prayer we brought it up one more time and  I think for one of the first times in my life I felt how much God loves all of his children. I started crying, because she shouldn't come to Church... A bit embarrassing but I was so gutted. I didn't know what to do. I knew how much it would bless her life, but she wasn't having it. It opened my eyes just for a minute about how much God loves ALL of us. No matter where we are in life! Which leads me to an amazing quote I heard in Church yesterday which says, "Why would I quit now, when God has given me so much already?" Boom Bam Ding Shong WEHU! haha Great quote init? :) But it is so true. God has given us so much how could we ever give up on Him, ourselves or others? It jsut doesn't make sense. I just love thinking about that quote. You should put it on your wall or somewhere where you can see it to remind you everyday that "You can do it. He is with you, and has given you so much already." :) LOVE IT!!

An update on our relationship ( Elder Wright and I ) its perf!! He is amazing!! It's crazy how if you change your frame of mind, serve him, and just love the bloke, how great somebody truly is. I don't know why in the HECK we didn't get along, because we get along sooo well. First of all we have the same name. He is Compton "ghetto booty" California. Which makes him sick! And I am from Ogden "Ghetto Booty" Utah... So we are pretty much the same there. ;) haha But ya I just love the kid. He isn't really much of a kid, he is 3 years older than me... But he is teaching me so much. He's great!! All I can say is taht I am stupid for not getting along with him from the very start. It's like Michael Jackson's song. "I'm starting with the man in the mirror. I'm asking him to change his ways. No message can a man be any clearer. If you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make that change. OW! nah nah nah" :) haha Change yourself before you criticize others. It's as simple as that. :)

One more qucik story. So we were doing service for a Less active in the ward. (mowing her lawn) And the lawn mowers over here are bere weird and you plug them into the outlet and then it works. And Leona's grass is about 3 to 4 feet tall and so we started on the task of mowing her lawn.... And about 7 minutes into it I, Dayton "stupid kid" Wright ran over the electrical cord that plugs into the wall!!!...... So ya... We couldn't mow anymore. But apparently that happens a lot over here so it is fixable :) I will attach loads of pictures that will help explain myself :)

I love you!! And thanks for all of the love and support!!

Keep on keeping on

Love

Elder Dayton Wright

PS we went to a castle last P-Day. Pretty neat :)

Sorry Everyone catching up on Daytons Blog.

    Dear Family and Friends,

To be honest, I am a bit jealous. Jealous in the fact that you went to the 1 Direction concert... You are so lucky!! haha :) Seriously though. (One direction re-mix coming up) If only you saw what I could see, you'd understand why I want to go so desperately. Right now I'm writing this e-mail and I can't believe, that you don't know-oh-oh You don't know I want to go!! :) haha Im sure that was good, family fun entertainment! :) Sounds as if summer is into the full swing of things, literally. That golfing looked well fun! I could just imagine Marae golfing... haha :) Let's just say it puts a smile on my face. It kinda reminds me of Samantha trying to play volleyball!! Do you remember that?! Good times. :) :) And we also have girl's camp coming up!! WEHU! Everybody and their cats know that girls camp is by far the greatest thing in the world! :) Make sure to live it up Mum, and Nae-no... you only live once. haha I'm sorry Shananu about your back, that is some bad news. I hope everything gets better. *crossing my fingers OH, PS. HAPPY FATHERS DAY!! :) :) I know it's a bit late, but I didn't wish you one in advance and yesterday I was thinking about you the whole day and I was like, shoot, I didn't wish him a Happy Father's Day last week... But don't you worry, I did write you a hand written letter last week so that should get to you soon :) :) Deirck Wright >>> You truly are the best dad in the world!! Thanks for all that you have done for the family! 10 Points for you :) :)

   My week.

Yesterday we confirmed Mandy and Chelsea members of the Church!! :) Such a strong spiritual experience :) And they are doing so well! Everybody is fellow shipping them and you can tell that they are going to be solid members :) If nothing else goes right in my mission,  this one experience will be good enough for me. Seeing Mandy go from smoking everyday all day to going to church and saying her prayers, is the best thing in the world!! There truly is something different about the relationship that missionaries and their investigators share with each other. I love those three like family. They had a really neat experience this week. After they were baptized they received loads entirely of blessings :) Mandy lives off of benefits so she doesn't receive much money from week to week and this past week the school called her in about Chelsea. When Mandy got to the school the head master told Mandy that they are giving her 400 pounds of vouchers and that Chelsea could get free food and snacks for the rest of the year. Mandy asked why and they just said we know you could use some help and we are giving it to you. :) :) :) Init that the best thing you could ever hear! Especially as a parent? Now you don't have to worry if you have enough money to feed your kids or give them their "snack." They are set now. :) God works in mysterious ways. Now I just hope and pray that they stay on the right path! What a cool story!

To be honest this past week with teaching and finding wasn't exactly the best. We had a lot planned had a lot of good plans for people, but they just wound't have it. We would call them, text them, stop by their house, and they wouldn't answer. And the worst part is that you get to their house, you hear people walking around inside, knock on their door, and then nobody comes.... So you knock again, the dog starts barking, you hear somebody say "SHUT UP" and they still don't come to the door, knock again, you see one of the kids come to the door, and they are just about to open the door, then somebody grabs them and takes them away from the door. We knock one more time. And they look through the curtains and they are "on the phone" and they mouth come back another time. hahahahah That is the best thing in the world!! :) :) :) Just kidding that never happened. But could you imagine? haha Oh my days! :) I mean we got every single one of them this past week, but not all at the same door... haha If that happened at the same door, I would probably just die of laughter!! :') But ya not a whole lot of stuff happened this week. Actually a lot of stuff happened this week. We were dropped by just about everybody! ha We had I believe 5 on date at the start of the week and by the end we had 2. But these two that are on date don't look too promising. One of our investigators is even getting baptized into a different church! Talk about an ultimate sucker punch to the gonads!! haha Elder Wright and I have tried to figure out what is going on and it's not because we are being disobedient, not getting along, or being apostate. But we reckon it's because we found such a lovely family and baptized them that He doesn't want us to have too much success ;) That was a complete joke. I don't know if I should delete that or not, because that doesn't sound the best but if it's what we think, you should be able to know. Right? :) A great plus of this past week was we had dinner with the members every night!! WEHU! That is always the best! A bit random, but that has never happened so that was nice :) #delicious

Yup. That is my week in a nut shell. If I could describe it in three words, lovely, sunny, and spot-on. haha Is that four words? I tried making it three but whatevs. I love you! Hope you have a wonderful week and live up your summer!! It only comes once a year. :)

  Love you!

 Elder Dayton Wright

Ps Elder Wright and I did a few music videos but they are too big to send... Sorry

pps Also did Shananu ever get my letter that I sent her because it had my last memory stick in it... Hopefully nobody stole it. That had all the pictures of my mission on it.. Oopsies.
